Ruby Nell Bellar passed away peacefully at home with her family. She was 80 years of age. Ruby was born to the late William Gallien and Ella Owens Gallien on Jan. 10, 1942, in Opelousas, La. She and her family later moved to Lake Charles, where she attended W. O. Boston High School. Employed as a trainer and caregiver at Robinswood School for the developmentally disabled, she was a dedicated and hard worker until her retirement after 32 years. She was a faithful member of Evergreen Baptist Church where she often served and shared her love of cooking. She will be remembered as a loving mother, loving grandmother, kind friend, great cook, plant lover and an avid card player who never met a stranger. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dallas Bellar; one daughter, Tanya Randell Gallien; four sisters, Willie Mae Henderson, Ivory Marie Gallien, Norma Jean Gallien, and her twin Eura Nell Dominique; one brother, Anthony Gallien; and her stepmother, Leola Gallien.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memories, her son Terrel Lynn Bellar of Lake Charles; two daughters, Tammy (Charles) Bellar-Wright of Lake Charles, and Trina (Christopher) Dargin of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Wanda Davis and Loretta Gallien, both of Lake Charles; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild with a host of relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Combre Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
