Sammie Lou Hoyle, 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, in Orange, Texas. Sammie was born July 11, 1930, near Hillsboro, Texas, to Briggs and Emmie (Hare) Padgett. She was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and married the love of her life, Kenneth (“Speedy”) Ray Hoyle. They enjoyed 50 years of married bliss until Kenneth’s death in 1998. Words did not express the love she had for him.
She was a faithful member of the Southside church of Christ in Lake Charles. Kenneth had taught her the truth when they were young, and Sammie stood by his side and treasured building a beautiful life alongside Kenneth throughout the years as he faithfully preached the gospel of Christ. They lived in Texas with the exception of the last six years of their lives together happily spent in Lake Charles. Sammie was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker and was well known for her sweet tea and chocolate cake.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Ray Hoyle; daughter, Brenda Jan Hoyle; and son, Lynn Robert Hoyle; parents, Briggs and Emmie Padgett; sister, Edith Lois Ward; and brother, Billy Joe Padgett.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and David Kibodeaux of Orange, and Mary and Norman Harrison of Orange; grandchildren Christopher, Jon-Michael, Lindsey, Becky, Daniel, Ben, and Blake; and six great-grandsons.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12,2022, at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, in Ridge Park Cemetery Hillsboro Texas.
