Marcia was born on June 1, 1945, to James D. and Marguerite B. Roberts in Memphis, Tenn. She was a warm and loving person. Her smile could light up a room.

The event that would define the rest of her life was meeting Dick Churns at the 1968 International Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge, La.
