A 26-year-old Lake Charles has man has been charged in the rape of a girl under 14.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said Hunter K. Smith, 26, was charged Thursday with first-degree rape.  Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $1 million.

Vincent said their office was notified Aug. 30 of the accusation. She said when detectives located Smith, he was transported to their office for questions and was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 1^st degree rape.
