Beatrice Lewis

Beatrice Lewis affectionately known as “Tuney” or “Bea” was born on Jan. 25, 1939, in Sunset, La. She was the only child born to the union of the late Stanley Lewis and Rose Smith Lewis. She was baptized at an early age and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a former member of Evangel Temple under the leadership of Bishop Erika Braxter. She then became a faithful member of New Covenant Faith B.C. under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy Stevens where she remained until her health declined.
Beatrice married the late William S. Miller and to this union, seven children were born, Abby Fay, Verna Rose, Karen Marie, the late Elizabeth Miller, Bernice Miller, the late Billy Ray Miller, and David Lynn Miller.
Beatrice leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Abby (Larry) Rosamore, Verna (Johnathon) Ruffin, Karen (Calvin) Sylvester of Lake Charles, La., and Bernice Miller of Dallas, Texas; one son, David Miller of Lake Charles, La.; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, New Covenant Faith B.C. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Stevens’ Funeral Home. Visitation Saturday 9 a.m.
