A Lake Charles man has been arrested following a Friday weapons complaint in the area of Enterprise Boulevard and 11th Street.
Lake Charles Police Sgt. Brenda Treadway said officers at the scene were flagged down just after noon Friday by residents who said they heard multiple gunshots originating from the rear yard of a residence on 12th Street.
Treadway said officers found numerous shell casings in a yard in the 1200 block of 12th Street and after interviewing several witnesses learned 45-year-old Marcus Pitre had discharged a firearm.
The firearm, previously reported as stolen, was later recovered from the residence, Treadway said.
Pitre was arrested on Aug. 26 and charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm, illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities and drug possession.
Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $45,250.
