Hazel Jean Barrow

Hazel Jean Barrow, 91, of Sulphur, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles. A native of Daisetta, Texas, she has lived in Sulphur, since 1963, and was retired from Walmart, where she worked as a greeter for many years. Hazel enjoyed sewing barbie clothes, baking rum cakes, feeding her birds, and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, in Beaumont, with burial to follow.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 12 p.m. till 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the funeral home.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Lula Tywater; husband, Asa Oscar Barrow; brothers, Francis “Popeye” James Tywater, Arnold Tywater, Alfred (Dee) Tywater, Walter Tywater, Lawrence Tywater, Herbert Tywater, and Kenneth Tywater; sisters, Lillie Mae Tywater Hansen, and Evelyn Tywater Pate; and her granddaughter, Roxanne Barrow.
Hazel is survived by her sons, Roy Barrow Sr. and his wife Lorraine, and Russell Barrow, all of Sulphur; brothers, Roger “Dick” Tywater and his wife Mary of Silsbee, and Walker (Jabo) Tywater and his wife Elizabeth of Alvin, Texas; five grandchildren, Brenton Barrow, Ariel Barrow, Ryan Barrow, Roy Barrow, Jr. and Daniel “DJ” Barrow; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Hazel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
