Lou Allie Fontenot

Lou Allie Fontenot, 94, of Lake Charles, passed away at 8:52 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. Fontenot was born on Aug. 23, 1927, in Washington, La., where she was raised and was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Louisiana Work Force in the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury division for 19 years and was the owner of several dress boutiques. Mrs. Fontenot was a past member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and currently attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic church and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She took pleasure in gardening, working in her flower bed, and dancing but she most of all cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandra Ardoin (Ronald) of Lake Charles, Mona Ross of Houston, and John Quienalty of Lake Charles; sister, Audrey Leftwich of New Orleans; grandchildren, Kimberly Schultea (Chris), Ron Ardoin Jr. (Jennifer), Kevin Ross (Erica), and Colin Ross (Rachael); great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Kayleigh Schultea, Chase Ardoin, and Mallory, Claire, Audrey, and Samuel Ross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Odette and Don Fontenot; and a sister, Anna Mae Foret.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the start of the service with a rosary to be recited at 1:30 p.m.
