Marco Giovanni Pacetti, 52, of Missouri City, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2022. Marco was born on Dec. 22, 1969, in Lake Charles, La., a son of the late John Pacetti and Rosiland Smith. Marco lived his life by the Braveheart quote, “Every man dies, not every man really lives.”
Traveling to places like Maui, Hawaii, and the Oakland Hills in California calmed his soul while places like Reno, Nev., awakened his rebellious “Big Mo” persona. There was only one place that could bring him peace…Every time he was able to get back to San Francisco Bay was a gift that kept giving. The Bay will always have Marco’s heart. He respected all and had a thirst to learn the culture of everyone that crossed his path. Marco was able to have a conversation about anything…hip hop, art, history, Classic Rock, Madden, Marvel and DC comics and movies, etc.. He was also an avid sports fan (Golden State Warriors, Boston Red Socks, and New Orleans Saints “WHO DAT”).
Marco started his cooking career at the Hilton Hotel in Beaumont, which sparked his love for the culinary world. He was able to join two loves, culinary and travel, by cooking for the Hilton Hotel, Oakland Raiders, Claremont Club & Spa in Berkeley, Calif., The Fat Cat in Oakland, Calif., and Lake Charles, La., and Isle of Capri. He joined the staff at Eagles Landing Middle School in Boca Raton, Florida as the Culinary Arts Instructor.
He is survived by his fiance, Daphne Holmes; three brothers, Mario Pacetti and his wife Chelsea of Ragley, La., Vincent Pacetti and his wife Candice of Tupelo, Miss., and Joseph Hall of Fremont, Wis.; sister, Tricia Keith of Lake Charles, La. Also surviving are nephews, Macario “Mac” Pacetti (Mario and Chelsea) and Gabe Pacetti (Vincent and Candice); nieces Amber Nordstrom and her husband Beau; Toni Delaunay and her husband JP, all of Lake Charles, La., and Lauren Hester and her husband Mathew of Belmont, Miss.; great-nephew, Logan Nordstrom (Amber and Beau) and great-niece, Maddy Delaunay (Toni and JP); godchildren, Cassie and Jace Talbert (James “JT” and Heather).
His special friends, James “JT” and Heather Talbert, Darin Bourque, Brian Goodwell, Sherard Smith, Jennifer Beck, Paul and Tina Leblanc, Ben Deaton and Claudia Moreno, David King, Adam Walker and Jenny Wolfe, Carla and Donnie Cranfill, Dawn and Justin Landry, Jett and Jennie Pitzer, Butch Brock, Shonda Elliott Lauw and Christy Morvant.
In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, his body will be cremated with a celebration of life and spreading of his ashes to be conducted at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and donations, the family would like you to express your love to those you value. And when you think about Marco, remember the words of the Wu Tang Clan… “Do not chase people. Be you and do your own thing and work hard. The right people who belong in your life will come to you, and stay.”
