Bernetta “Bonnie” Dale Eubanks, age 83, of Sulphur, La., passed away peacefully with her son & daughter-in-law by her side on Monday, May 23, 2022. Bonnie was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Ville Platte, La.
Bonnie was a native of Ville Platte, La., and raised in Oakdale, La., and later lived in Galena Park, Texas, Lake Charles, La., and settled in Sulphur, La. She was a 1956 graduate of Oakdale High School. Bonnie worked at several companies in the Lake Charles area performing secretarial and managerial duties for many years. She later retired from Wal-Mart as a manager. Bonnie enjoyed playing softball in her earlier years, painting, dancing, and floral arranging. She was a social butterfly who loved gathering with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Glen Crooks (Kim) of Sulphur, La., Jimmy Crooks of Lake Charles, La., Ricky Eubanks of Dallas, Texas; her siblings, Callie Davis (Eugene) of Buna, Texas, Debbie Juneau (Stuart) of Baton Rouge, La., Kathy Perry (Denny) of Oakdale, La., Brenda Eaves (Billy) of Lake Charles, La., Larry Johnson (Nancy) of Moss Bluff, La., Jerry Johnson (Cathy) of Oakdale, La., Ronald Johnson of Pitkin, La.; her grandchildren, Brandon Crooks, Megan Shillow, Kacy Broussard, Brianna Arabie, Christian Crooks; great-grandchildren, Hallee, Gemma, Emmy, Tripp, Harper, and Olivia; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Bud Eubanks; her parents, Dallas and Alice Smith Johnson; and her sister, Floretta “Flo” Holsomback.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022, and will resume on Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
