Glada Marie Guidry

CREOLE — Glada Marie Guidry, born May 20, 1939, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the age of 82 “one day shy of 83” peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Glada was a graduate of South Cameron High School (the first graduating class) and a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. She retired from South Cameron High as a janitor after 15 years. She was co-owner of the Fiesta Lounge in Cameron. Glada enjoyed spending time with family and friends and never met a stranger. After retiring, she enjoyed babysitting her great grands and a few special other ones.
She is survived by her 3 children, Julie Rutherford (J.E.), Janelle Boudreaux (Roger) and Janice Hebert (Mike Jarreau); father of her children, Connie Mack Guidry; siblings, Glinda Mae Boudreaux and Marty Allen LaBove; five grandchildren, Janna Trahan, Joni Miller, Jill Rutherford, James “Pookie” Hebert, Jonathon Theriot; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan Trahan, Jada Miller, Justin Trahan, Drayden Miller, L”Nae Dahlen, Emily Theriot, and Tuff Mouton; two nieces, Darlene Higgins, Darla Desonier; one nephew, John Jay LaBove.
Glada was preceded in death by her parents, John Arceneaux “Baus” LaBove and Lola Faulk LaBove; granddaughter, Richelle La’Nae Boudreaux; brother, Burl James LaBove; son-in-law, Freddie Dean Hebert; grandson-in-law, Johnny “Lil Johnny” Miller.

Funeral service will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Sweetlake – Grandlake Community Cemetery. Visitation begins Sunday in the funeral home from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and will resume Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
