Vida Dalovisio Graves

Vida Dalovisio Graves, age 96, a resident of Baton Rouge since 1950, passed away on April 30, 2022. A native of Lake Charles, La., Vida graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1944 and attended Lake Charles Trade School. Vida was employed in various capacities while living in Lake Charles. Vida married Andy Matamoras in 1950 and moved to Baton Rouge. She was involved with bowling and golf activities. The highlight of her golfing career was winning the Women’s City Golf Championship in 1965 and then again in 1969. Vida married Jim Graves in 1978. She worked for Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Carmen M. Van Buskink; granddaughter, Tiffany Richardson; great-grandson, Jackson Richardson; stepson, Mike Graves; sister, Joann D. Venison (John); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Matamoras; husband, Andy Matamoras; and second husband, Jim Graves.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 5, 2022, beginning at 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
