It’s Election Day in six Southwest Louisiana parishes.

Ballot items include runoffs for Merryville Chief of Police and two DeRidder Councilmen At Large seats in Beauregard and eight school district propositions between Allen and Jeff Davis parishes.
In Calcasieu, voters will decide on tax propositions for a community center and playground in District 4 of Ward 1, Ward 1 Fire Protection District 1, Ward 4 Fire Protection District 2 and Waterworks District 9 of Ward 4.
In Cameron, voters are asked to consider tax propositions for the Consolidated Fire Protections of South Cameron, Recreation District 6, Waterworks District 9 and Fire Protection District 10.
In Vernon, voters will consider a tax continuation for the West Vernon Parish Waterworks District.
In addition to the Merryville police chief and the DeRidder council seats, Beauregard voters will also be asked to consider a parish-wide library tax continuation.
Sample ballots, polling locations and precinct information can be found on the GeauxVote app or online at geauxvote.com, or voterportal.sos.la.gov.
Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin said polling commissioners will be provided personal protective equipment to protect against the spread of COVID-19.
Voting machines will be wiped down after each voter casts their ballot. Hand sanitizer will be available, and while face masks aren’t required, they are recommended.
Voters should bring their driver’s license, a Louisiana special ID or a generally recognized photo ID that includes their signature. Digital licenses through the LA Wallet app are acceptable.
