Kent Michael Statum, born on Feb. 19, 1982, son of Charles Ray and Sharon Reed Statum, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on April 6, 2022, at the age of 40.
Survived by his devoted wife of 13 years, Stephanie Boothe Statum; children, Ella Faith, Major Charles, and Arden Jane; mother, Sharon Reed Statum (Gerard Guimbellot); sister, Kati Statum Cremeans (Jonathan); and nieces, Abigail, Gracie, Audrey, and Chaplin; father-in-law, Bret Boothe (Perla); mother-in-law, Buffy DuBois (Brandon); grandparents, Joel and Linda Boothe; sisters-in-law, Kylie Boothe, and Baylie Boothe.
Preceded in death by his dad, Charles Ray Statum; brother, Kurtis Lloyd Statum; sister, Kristi Kay Statum; brother-in-law, Corey Boothe; grandparents, Winfred and Hadry Mae Statum and Lloyd and Arvie Reed.
Kent graduated from Lake Charles Christian School in 2000, and attended Sowela Technical Community College. Kent worked for Fluor Corporation for 13 years as a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. He worked internationally in Afghanistan (in support of the U. S. Military), Africa, and Canada and multiple locations around the United States.
Kent was a family man and adored his wife and children. He took great joy in spending time with his family. Most of all, he loved the Lord and sharing his Faith.
We will be celebrating Kent’s life at Livingway Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. with Bishop C. R. Nugent, Pastor Brent Keating, Pastor James Moore, and Shannon Caudill officiating. Burial will follow at New Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m.
