Houston Baptist forfeited today’s first of a three-game Southland Conference softball series against McNeese State due to a COVID outbreak in the Huskies program.

Saturday’s doubleheader was rescheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Cowgirls (17-14, 4-0 SLC) have won five straight, including a 7-5 nonconference win over Louisiana-Monroe at home on Tuesday.

McNeese’s Wednesday game at LSU was postponed due to rain and rescheduled for April 26.

The Huskies (10-16, 0-4) have lost seven straight and are coming off a midweek loss to former SLC member Lamar.
