Rosa Mary (Simon) Jolivette died on March 18, 2022, in Lafayette, La. She was born on July 29, 1926, in Lawtell, La., the daughter of Gabriel and Ella (Declouet) Simon. She was married for 59 years to Paul Herbert Jolivette, who predeceased her on March 9, 2006.
She is survived by her five children, Gabriel of Lake Charles, Rose Marie (Richard) of Kettle Falls, Wash., Murray (William) of Washington D.C., Germaine (William) of Katy, Texas, and Paul (Teresa) of Ft. Smith, Ark.; her beloved grandchildren, Gregory (Tracy), Julien, Lucas, Chuck (Christina), Reve (Timothy), Matthew, Fehran (Thomas), Sean, Adrienne, Jordan, and Paul; her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Lucy, Makayla, Kamilla, Roselynn, Dominic, Giavanna, Tyleigh, Thomas, Aaron, Jacob, Penelope, and Gianna; her sister Marjorie Jenkins of Lake Charles; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Louisiana and around the country. Her grandson Ronald predeceased her in 1997.
She was a faithful member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, where she was active in the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary St. Rita Ct. #31 and of the Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society. She was the convenor of the Senior Ladies of Distinction lunch group, and leaves behind many dear friends in Lake Charles, Opelousas, and everywhere she visited.
A viewing will be held at the Combre Funeral Home, 1200 Mill St., Lake Charles, LA 70601, starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, with recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at noon at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1102 Mill St., Lake Charles, LA 70601.
