A 62-year-old Lake Charles man found guilty of second-degree murder earlier this month has been sentenced to life in prison.
Judge Michael Canaday sentenced James Sanford Snider to life in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence on one count of second-degree murder and 20 years in prison on one count of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies. The sentences are to run concurrently.
Video of Snider killing a man by shooting him in the chest was used as evidence in the trial. Snider, who was previously convicted of manslaughter, legally cannot be in possession of a firearm and was convicted on that count, as well.
