A shooting in Welsh on Thursday remains under investigation by the Welsh Police Department, and no arrests have been made.
Police Chief Marcus Crochet said Friday, both victim and witnesses have chosen not to cooperate with investigators.
A person of interest was interviewed Thursday but no formal charges have been filed, Crochet said.
He said officers spent most of Friday going through evidence making sure they had everything they needed to continue the investigation.
The shooting occurred around noon Thursday outside a residence near the corner of Coleman and Welsh streets.
Police officers responding to the calls of shots being fired in the 600 block of Welsh Street, found the victim outside with a gunshot wound to the upper thigh.
The victim, whose name is not being released by police, was treated and released from the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Welsh Police Department at 337-734-2626.
