Edgar Bryant was a resident of Lake Charles, La. He was born on Oct. 27, 1950, in DeRidder, La., to the late Erastus Ben Bryant and Hazel Boyd Bryant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Darrel P. Bryant; four brothers, Elijah L. Bryant, Butler Lewis, Warren B. Bryant, Ernest W. Bryant; and one son, Dana L. Ceasar.

Edgar worked Construction for over 20 years. He’s a retired insurance salesman, and he also worked for Cox Communications for several years. He was called home on Jan. 16, 2022.

Edgar was a life-long member of Blake St C.O.C. where he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He was a proud man of God. He devoted his life to serving the Lord and doing his will.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Bryant of 28 years; one sister, Willie Laura Handy; two daughters, Dionne (Derrick) Bartie, Nicole Gray; two sons, Tony (LaTarus) Gray Sr. and Ledale Gray Sr.; 13 grandchildren, Jevante Ceasar, Dylan, Dedrick and Audrianna Bartie, Tashira and Cordell Ceasar, Tony Gray Jr., Malik Gray, Ledale Gray Jr., Neya and Nyla Gray and Delisa and Zachary Gauthier; three great-grandchildren, Noelle Ceasar, Aubrielle Lyons and Malcolm Lyons Jr.; and a host of neices, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, from 9 – 11 a.m. at Blake St C.O.C, located at 103 N. Blake St in Lake Charles. Funeral service will start from 11 – 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Blake St C.O.C. He will be laid to rest at Perkins Cemetery, 1100 Mckinley St., in Westlake, La.
