Lake Charles Police are asking for help in an ongoing hit-and-run investigation that has left the victim hospitalized for more than three weeks.
Major Kevin Kirkum said the wreck happened a little before 10 a.m. on Dec. 13 at the Belden Street exit off of Interstate 10 East.
Kirkum said a 1993 GMC truck was traveling east on I-10 approaching the Belden Street exit when it was struck from behind by a newer model Dodge truck that was white and black.
Kirkum said the collision caused the GMC to leave the roadway, strike a fence and stop at a dirt pile near the Belden and Prater streets intersection. The driver of the GMC has been in the hospital since this incident occurred and the wreck is being investigated as a hit-and-run.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigating officer, Lt. Sammy Kingsley, at 337-491-1311.
