Jacob “Jake” Scott Brady

Jacob Scott “Jake” Brady, 28 passed away in Denver, Colo. on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021. He was born on Oct. 13, 1993, to Harold Gregory Brady and Angela Kay Menard Gaskin in Lake Charles, La.
Jake grew up in Westlake, La. where he played all sports, with football being his all time favorite.
He loved to hunt, fish, spend time with his friends, and he loved his family. After Jake graduated, he attended MSU for a short time, but eventually moved to Colorado and became a model for Wilhelmina Denver. He represented them in Milan, Italy. Jake loved adventure, exploring, hiking the Colorado Mountains, attending concerts at Red Rocks, and soaking up nature. Jake’s beloved dog, Bella, followed him everywhere he went. Jake had a huge heart and was never capable of seeing the bad in anyone or anything. Jake was a very loyal friend to those who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Angela and Chris Gaskin of Lake Charles, and Greg and Melanie Brady of Moss Bluff, La.; his siblings, Luke Hunter Gaskin and Clay Matthew Gaskin of Lake Charles, Kara Ann Brady of Katy, Texas, Abigail Claire Brady and Grant Michael Brady of Moss Bluff; and his beloved dog, Bella Jean Brady; his grandparents, Harold and Shirley Brady of Oakdale, La., Linda and Pete Louviere of Carencro, La., and Roxie Fetterly Menard of Welsh, La.
Jake was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Ray Menard of Welsh, La.; and his stepgrandparents, (James) Terrell and Glynis Ruth Gaskin of Carlyss, La.; all of which who loved and cherished him dearly.
His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, located at 1301 Sampson St., Westlake, LA. Deacon Brian Soileau will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Tuesday evening visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, located at 2171 Hwy. 171 North, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m., and will resume on Wednesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until leaving in procession to the church at 1:30 p.m.
In Lieu of flowers, the family sincerely requests donations be made to the Crime Stoppers of Denver, Colorado, Denver Colorado Animal Shelter ) or an animal shelter of your choice), plant a tree in honor of Jake, or donate money to Westlake High School in honor of Jake’s name.
