When deputes arrived, they observed numerous people in the yard and a female being held down on the ground by a male subject, he said. The woman was identified as Matte.

Witnesses told deputies Matte ran over a guest’s foot trying to drive away under the influence.

Bystanders were able to remove Matte from the vehicle and she began punching, kicking and biting the victim.

When deputies arrested Matte, began punching the front driver’s side window of the sheriff’s unit. After a brief struggle, Matte was handcuffed and transported to the Jeff Davis Parish Jail.

While being booked into the jail, Matte attacked a correctional officer by punching him several times in the face with a closed fist.
