Westlake man gets life in fatal stabbing

- Trevor A. Matthews has been sentenced to life in prison without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on one count second-degree murder.
A Westlake man found guilty last month in the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Ronnie Southerland has been sentenced to life in prison.
Trevor A. Matthews, 42, was convicted on one count of second-degree murder in September.
He was accused of stabbing Southerland 78 times after giving him a ride on Nov. 14, 2019.
Canaday sentenced Matthews on Tuesday to life in prison without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence,
