A Sulphur man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to aggravated crime against nature of a victim under the age of 13.
Judge Derrick Kee sentenced Patrick R. Sanner, 53, to 60 years in prison at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
Sanner was originally indicted on three counts of first-degree rape of a victim under 13 and one count of sexual battery of a victim under 13. The indictments alleged the incidents began when the victim was 5.
Detectives with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office previously told the American Press they were advised on Aug. 16, 2020, that Sanner repeatedly raped a juvenile who was under the age of 13.
He was later arrested near the border of Mexico on a $2 million warrant signed by Judge Clayton Davis.
Authorities said Sanner attempted to evade arrest by traveling to Mexico.
