JENNINGS — A Leesville woman was arrested Sunday after authorities say she stabbed her boyfriend during a domestic disturbance.

Jennifer Rene Braxton, 38, was arrested by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of aggravated second-degree battery and battery of a dating partner.

Braxton was arrested after deputies responded to an incident on Interstate 10 near Lacassine in which a female reported she had stabbed her boyfriend.

When deputies arrived they found a male conscious, but bleeding heavily from the arm and chest area, according to Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.

The victim was transported to Jennings American Legion Hospital for treatment by Acadian Ambulance.
