Two people were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds inside a home in Beauregard Parish on Wednesday, according to authorities.

Sheriff Mark Herford said deputies responded to a 911 call at about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday morning at a residence on the west side of DeRidder, outside of city limits.

Upon arrival, Herford said two individuals were located inside the home deceased, and both appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds.

“At this time our investigation shows that this is an isolated incident, and that there is no danger to the community,” Herford said.

The bodies have been transported to the Louisiana Forensics Center in Lafayette for autopsy.

As of Wednesday evening, the identities of the two individuals are being withheld pending the notification of family members.

Herford said the investigation is ongoing.
