Chester L. Doucet

Jennings:  The family and friends of Chester L. Doucet are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on August 29, 2021, at the age of 92.  Chester was born in Evangeline, LA to Herbert Doucet and Hope Daigle Doucet on February 11, 1929. He enjoyed being outdoors where he was able to crab, fish, and shrimp. Chester was a member of the VFW Post 3686 and the American Legion of Iota. He never met a stranger and loved people. Chester also enjoyed going to the Casino, in his free time. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Chester is survived by his son, Herbert L. (Judy) Doucet of Jennings, LA; daughter, Brenda (Russell) Hebert of Evangeline, LA; grandchildren, Hope Doucet, Ashely Quebodeaux, and Jared Quebodeaux; great-grandchildren, Javon, Anjale, Jazlyn, Luna, Kaden, and Remy; and sister, Marie Bailey.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Hope Doucet; beloved wife of 60 years, Agnes Doucet; daughter, Theresa Doucet Quebodeaux; and great-granddaughter, Aysia.

Funeral Services for Chester Doucet will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings, LA on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 1:00 PM. Visitation, at the request of the family, will begin at Matthews and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 1st from 9:00 AM until the time of his Service. Chester’s service will conclude at Matthews and Son’s Funeral Home Chapel following his Service with a private interment.

Honorary Pallbearer chosen to serve his great-grandfather, will be Javon Emilien.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the VA Home or LAMN Hospice.
