Tommy Lynn Sherer, 67, of Crowley passed away at 1:26 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2021 in a Lafayette hospital.
Tommy was born on November 23, 1953 in Cheyenne, WY and was raised in Lake Charles. He was a 1972 graduate of Lake Charles High School where he played on the football team. Following graduation, he worked in the oil field until joining the US Army. Upon discharge, he attended Sowela Technical Community College and graduated with a degree in electronics.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed calling BINGO at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley where he resided.
Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Jerry Wayne Sherer (Carol) of Hereford, AZ, Michael Ray Sherer (Connie) of Topeka, KS, Mavis Ruth Hebert (Robert) of Yakima, WA, Donald C. Sherer (Vicky) of Moss Bluff, Ronald W. Sherer (Linda) of Westlake, and David Alan Sherer (Cecilia) of Moss Bluff; sister-in-law, Kay Sherer of Sugarland, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and W.C. Sherer and a brother, Patrick Sherer.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. The Rev. John Hoffpauir will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
