Valerie Jean Abraham

Valerie Jean Warren Abraham was born to James Rush and
Dorothy Mae Warren on February 23, 1947, in Jennings, Louisiana. She accepted Christ at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Jennings. She attended Jeff Davis High School and Grambling State University. She worked as a dependable Substitute
Teacher in Jennings and also after 21 years, retired from Southwest State School as a Supervisor in Iota, Louisiana. She faithfully dedicated her time and service as Leader of The Lillie B. O’Brien Red Circle Organization at Union Baptist Church and
worked diligently with Vacation Bible School. Valerie was an avid historian who shared and recorded lots of town and family history with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters Kimberly R. (Shane
Garrett), Chianti D. (Michael Paul) Moncrief, and Alana R. (Aaron Freeman); two grandsons, Chandler M. and Keagan M. Moncrief whom she adored; one brother, Darren T. (Jacqueline) Warren, Sr.; three nephews, Darren Warren, Jr., Demond (Deshanna)
Warren and Patrick Warren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, three God-children; and three “Lil Earthly Angels” Kenadie Cummings, Sean Cummings, Ayden P. Walker; and a host of close
relatives, friends, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Abraham, Jr. and her parents, James Rush and Dorothy Mae Clark Warren, and countless family and friends. Her funeral service will be
held. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 11 a.m. in Union Baptist Church, Jennings, LA. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be held in Parkview Cemetery under the direction of Fondel Memorial Chapel.
