Catholic faithful gather at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Lake Charles on Tuesday for the final Mass prior to the suspension of services due to the coronavirus threat. In a statement from Bishop Glen John Provost, the bishop said churches and chapels will remain open for individual visits and prayers. Mass will continue to be celebrated daily without congregation. The bishop also said he is dispensing the faithful of the Diocese of Lake Charles from the obligation of attending Masses on Sundays and Holy Days during this period of suspended public liturgical services, but reminded Catholics to keep the Lord’s day holy quietly reading and meditating on the readings of the day, praying the rosary, and refraining from unnecessary work and he encouraged the faithful to take advantage of televised Masses.More zsystem/import
