Charles Rodney Durio

Charles Rodney Durio, 74, of Lake Charles, La, died at
5:43 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 in his residence.
Born September 6, 1946 in Eunice, La, Mr. Durio was raised in Basile, where he attended school. He lived a short time in Houston, Texas before moving to Lake Charles, where he has
called home for the past fifty years. He began his career at Boyce Machinery, where he met his wife and the mother of his children. He then worked thirty-five years for Higman Marine Services in Orange, Texas, retiring in 2012 as the Maintenance
supervisor and was over building of the tugboats. Mr. Durio previously attended St. Margaret Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. During his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and he always had a great love for
collecting antique tractors, watching westerns and John Wayne, but his true passion in life was for his family.
Mr. Durio is survived by his children, Melissa Gail Durio and companion Alexa Grisham and Brian Keith Durio; sister, Eppie
Sessions; nieces and nephews, Chris Fontenot, Shawn Perez, and Felicia Armstrong; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-eight years, Carol Sue Moore Durio; parents, Charles and Clotile
“Gladys” Durio; sister, Patricia Ann Fontenot; and nephews, Eric Sessions and Jimmy Fontenot, Jr..
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at University Baptist Church, under the direction of Johnson Funeral
Home. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. and continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
