Richard Don Clements Jr., 55, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, in an aviation accident.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Anetha Jane Snider Craft, 76, of Ragley, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, in a local hospital.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Judy Nell Thibodeaux Harrison will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Alexandria with Father Dan O’Conner officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery in Lacassine, La. at 1:30 p.m., under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. prior to mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church on Tuesday.

Judy Nell Thibodeaux Harrison, 72, passed away Feb. 3, 2021 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

Ms. Harrison was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was raised in Iowa, La. She attended Marion High School and graduated from McNeese University. She began teaching in middle school and soon returned to college at Northwestern to earn her Master’s degree. She worked 40 plus years as a guidance counselor in both Rapides and Calcasieu Parishes where she touched many lives. She absolutely loved what she did and showing those students their full potential. Once she finally retired 2 years ago, she moved to Pineville to be closer to her sons and grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren dearly and would do anything she could for them. She loved attending their sporting and school events along with picking up the youngest ones from the bus. She was devout Catholic and enjoyed reading and learning the Bible. She was an avid “Facebooker” and had a passion for a good argument.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Cecile Thibodeaux of Iowa, La. and sister, Sharon Johnson and her husband, Ray of Iowa, La.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Scotty Harrison (Nicole) and Patrick Harrison (Jeanne); her five grandchildren, Canon, Carson and Camryn Harrison and Hannah and Jax Harrison, all of Pineville. She will be remembered by her siblings, Harold Thibodeaux (Sharon) of Lake Charles; Rita Corbello of Iowa, La.; Marilyn Ardoin (Danny) of Welch, La.; Charles Thibodeaux of Lacassine, La.; and Vickie Benoit of Broussard, La. She has a number of nieces and nephews whom she adored, particularly Carrie. Her dear friends Pat Smith and Sharon Husser always had a special place in her heart.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Bill Adams, Todd Corbello, John Halle, Todd Morrow, James Rachal, and Matt Ritchie.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made in her name to the Maryhill Renewal Center in Pineville.

Robert Earl Martin, 76, of Rosepine, La. passed away Thursday, Feb. 4.

Born Dec. 7, 1929 entered into Heaven Feb. 2, 2021.

Our beloved momma, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend passed peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021. She was 91 years old.

She was welcomed into her heavenly home by her husband Herman Miller; infant daughter, Brenda Joyce; her mom and dad, George and Anna Anselem; her brothers, Ray, L.G and Archie; sisters, Eunice, Barbara, Gladys and Lucille.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Edna Mae Anselem and Nelda Johnston; children, Randell and wife Sandi, Guy, Connie and husband Greg, Linda Foreman, Boyd and wife Monica and Lita Miller; her sweet grandchildren, Blake and wife Kellie DeReese, Dennis and wife Tonya Miller, Mandi and husband Eric Mire, Eric Miller, Megan and husband Jarom Baldwin, Dana and wife Alexis Miller and Mika Cormier; and 11 adorable great-grandchildren with baby Kollins due in April.

Momma donated her body for much needed research, as did her husband. One last selfless act from a beautiful, well-lived life.

The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate her precious life on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Iowa, La.

EUNICE – It is with great sorrow that the family of Renee Ann LeJeune Miltner, announce her passing on Jan. 30, 2021. Renee will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed shopping online, reading the bible, and private spiritual meditation.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Greg McDonald of Houston, Texas; her precious granddaughters, Mya and Isabelle Guillory of Iowa La.; sisters, Adele Fuselier and husband Don, Michelle Ardoin of Eunice, La., brothers John LeJeune and wife Lori of Waco, Texas, and David LeJeune and wife Cindy of Eunice, La.

Preceding Renee in death was her daughter, Mindy Michelle LeJeune; her parents, Jesse James LeJeune and Betty Jane Courville LeJeune; paternal grandparents, Orelice LeJeune and Marie Adelaide Guillory LeJeune; maternal grandparents, Thomas Courville and Eula Brown Courville.

Visitation will be at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Saint Paul Cemetery with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.

Joseph “Rock” Palermo III, 55, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2.

A funeral mass will be held at 12 noon Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Wade Pitts, age 66, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 at the Carpenter House in Lafayette.

Wade served in the United States Air Force during which time he developed an interest in electronic systems and decided to persue a career in electrcial engineering.

He became a member of the I.B.E.W Local 861 and worked as a Journeyman Wireman Electrician and an Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor at Sowela Technical Institute.

Wade graduated from McNeese State universtiy in December 1984 with a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at multiple companies throughout his career and retired from Grace Davison in 2005.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents, George and Jean Pitts.

Wade will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor, and dedication to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Velma Lee Reese Richard

Velma Lee Reese Richard, 80, of Westlake passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2020 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Richard was born on May 12, 1940 in Bartlesville, Okla.

She will be remembered for her giving heart, always willing to help others. Mrs. Richard was an avid baker and loved to cook for her church friends and family. She was a member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Alfred J. “Boe” Richard of Westlake; son, William Henry “Bill” Cannon (Penny) of Lake Charles; stepson, Shawn Clinton Richard (Rebecca) of Westlake; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her furry companion, Duke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma and William Reese; twin sister, Verna M. Madore; sisters, Ada Lorene Roche and Jane A. Dillon; and brother, Clarence Murray.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 at Eastwood Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Aaron Lopez will officiate. Burial will follow in Old Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin in the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the start of the service.

Lucille R. Spence, 93, entered peacefully into rest on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 at her home in DeRidder, La. Lucille was born on Sept. 28, 1927 in Industry, Texas to Charlie Rosenbaum and Meta Nustedt.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Diamond Baptist Church, 299 Ikes Road DeRidder, LA 70634. Funeral services will be on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Bill Smith and the Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Lewis Cemetery. Lucille was a homemaker and a member of Diamond Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. All who knew her will miss her.

James Darrell Wiggins

James Darrell Wiggins, 88, of Lake Charles passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 in his residence.

Darrell was born on Dec. 3, 1932 in Oakdale, La. to James Addison and Dovie Ballard Wiggins. He graduated from Oakdale High School, and McNeese State University.

His hobbies included, stealing watermelons as a kid, sleeping in church as an adult, burning the piney woods of Oakdale, outrunning the cops on his Harley with his precious dogs in tow, running his ship ashore, and pranking his family. He spent most of his days covered in sawdust, building pallets, and drinking his beloved elixir, coffee.

Darrell was a God loving, wife fearing, kid at heart. He cherished his family above all else.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Suzanne Lea Harvey, and Lizabeth Jane Wiggins; grandchildren, Amanda Harvey and Travis Harvey; brother, Shelly Wiggins of Many, La.; sister, Joyce Ponder of Natchitoches, La.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Wiggins; his brother, Guy Wiggins; and his parents.

His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 at Sale Street Baptist Church in Lake Charles. Travis Harvey will be the celebrant. Services are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be Monday in the church from 9 a.m. until the start of the service. Mask required. Please respect social distancing.
