William Edward “Bubba” Fountain, 70, was called to Heaven
on Monday, Oct. 19, 2020.
Born in Shreveport, La. to Ollie J. and Dorothy Aileen Stringer Fountain, Bubba lived his life in Lake Charles. He was a 1970 graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended McNeese State University. He worked
for 43 years as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2015. Bubba devoted his life to his family. He was a soccer dad when his boys were young, and he enjoyed classic cars and fixing anything that was broken. He spent hours
piddling in his shop; both family and friends received treasures from the time he invested within those walls. He was a fantastic cook and famous for his burgers. He and his beloved wife Pam delighted in good times with friends through their Krewe
des Amis, watching LSU sports, and traveling around the world. Bubba will be most remembered for his servant’s heart-always helping others-the “fixer of all things family,” and a smile and attitude that assured one that everything was going to be
okay.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Pam Benoit Fountain; his son, Joshua Charles Fountain and wife Amber; two grandchildren, Josephine Gayle Fountain and Joshua Charles Fountain Jr.; brother,
Ollie “Butch” Fountain of Alexandria; sister, Debbie Brown and husband Bill of Seabrook, Texas; mother- and father-in-law, June and Charles Benoit; brothers-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Benoit and wife Trisha and John Benoit and wife Colleen;
sister-in-law, Leesa Benoit Howard and husband Mark, all of Lake Charles; and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents and his other beloved son, Jacob Joseph Fountain.
A mass of
Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Msgr. Jace Eskind will officiate. Interment will be at Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 12 noon until
service time.
Memorial donations may be made to the Carmelite Nuns, 1250 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, LA 70501.
