Domestic abuse
charges filed

A 36-year-old man has been charged with domestic abuse aggravated assault child endangerment (no bond) and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, with a $50K bond being set by Judge Clayton Davis.

The charges result from a Tuesday morning incident. Lake Charles police received a call at approximately 9 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. During the course of the investigation, officers learned the victim was in her bedroom when her ex-boyfriend, Joshua James Wimberly, entered the victim’s residence without consent.

Wimberly struck the victim and then utilized a weapon and threatened to kill the victim and then threatened to kill himself. It was learned the victim’s two children were present during this altercation. An arrest warrant was issued and Wimberly was arrested later in the day without incident.

Corporal Mark Fontenot is the arresting Officer. Evidence Officer Hayley Alfred procesed the scene. Detective Hope Sanders is the lead investigator.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

Jason Cal Galentine, 36, 1106 15th St. — driving on roadway laned for traffic; four counts drug possession. Bond: $9,750.

Brannon Deon Braxton, 41, 305 Holmes St. — theft from $5,000 but less than $25,000; bank fraud; domestic abuse battery, child endangerment; resisting an officer. Bond: $23,000.

Jody Paul Broussard, 34, 306 E. Miller St., Iowa, La. — domestic abuse battery.

Kendrick Anthony Lee Cooley, 34, Kermit, Texas — four counts drug possession; obstruction of justice; no turning signals; resisting an officer by flight; prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia; money laundering.

Mark Allen Leger, 37, 100 Walter Road, Vinton — three counts drug possession. Bond: $125,000.

Courtney Shea Patton, 42, 2501 22nd St. — three counts drug possession; prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia; obstruction of justice; money laundering. Bond: $25,500.

Justin Joseph Woods, 25, 2125 Martha St. — operating while intoxicated, third offense; no driver’s license on person.

Thomas Lane Myers, 27, 4404 Canal St. — second-degree battery.

Anthony Detwan Lancaster Jr., 20, 2105 Hagan St. — attempted armed robbery, use of a firearm; armed robbery. Bond: $75,000.

Omar Veliz-Valdes, 32, 690 W. McNeese St. — domestic abuse battery.

Amber Celeste Bohannon, 26, 1360 Saddlewood Drive — domestic abuse battery.

William Francis Pitre, 39, 1360 Saddlewood Drive — domestic abuse battery.

Jaylon Anthony Goodwin, 19, 802 Loree St., Vinton — illegal use of weapons or dangerous instruments. Bond: $5,000.

Benjamin David Vines, 33, 6023 Evelyn St. — domestic abuse battery.

Logan Brooks Albury, 22, 806 Sundale Drive — domestic abuse battery.

David James Lewis, 31, 912 13th St. — illegal carrying of weapons during commission of a crime or in presence of CDS; 10 counts drug possession; sale, distribution or possession of legend drug without prescription or order prohibited; money laundering.

William Anthony Manuel, 29, 1709 Winterhalter St. — simple criminal damage to property less than $1,000; illegal carrying of weapons, first offense; attempted simple escape. Bond: $9,000.

Charles Joseph Duplechin Jr., 29, 3462 Duke Road — criminal trespass; drug possession; two counts theft less than $1,000; simple burglary. Bond: $7,000.

Brooklyn Kenzie Augenstein, 21, 2187 E. Gauthier Road No. 203 — careless operation; operating a vehicle while under suspension for certain prior offenses; operating while intoxicated, third offense. Bond: $10,750.

Destaney Alexandria Renee Hal Moore, 24, 1918 Roscoe J. Moore St. Apt. A — parking spaces for certain disabled persons; two counts drug possession. Bond: $5,250.

Jose Enrique Reyes-Rivera, 44, 6336 Opelousas St. No. 72 — aggravated second-degree battery; violations of protective orders.

Devonte Jermaine Glodd, 25, 1813 7th St. — aggravated assault upon a dating partner; direct contempt of court.

Michael Dale Benoit, 25, 3011 E. Burton St., Sulphur — operating while intoxicated, fourth offense; possession of synthetic marijuana, first offense.

Charles Keith Bruno, 59, 1201 Stevenson St., Vinton — simple burglary; theft from $5,000 but less than $25,000; simple criminal damage to property less than $1,000 criminal trespass. Bond: $17,000.

Calvin Roy Vincent Sr., 53, 3869 Lloyd Berry Road, Vinton — domestic abuse battery.

Kimberly Witt Primeaux, 48, 1800 Rose St. — drug possession; possession of synthetic marijuana, first offense; prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana, first offense (14 grams or less).

Leslie Nicole Ashy, 35, 642 6th St. — drug possession; possession of synthetic marijuana, first offense; prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana, first offense (14 grams or less).

Michael Wayne Schlesinger, 62, 1009 S. Division St. — aggravated assault upon a dating partner.
