Credit union to open

This former bank location at 519 Kirby Street in Lake Charles is the future home of Access of Louisiana Federal Credit Union.

Correction: Spinoff

The photo shown above was incorrectly labeled last week. Pappy’s, Deli and Pub, located at 2627 Ryan Street in Lake Charles will not be the location of a new massage and wellness facility. Owners of Pappy’s, father and son Gary and Justin McQuiston, are purchasing the old Gayle’s Hardware, which the McQuistons will turn into another lounge, purportedly to be called, Gayle’s 1902 Shot Bar. It is possible that the business will expand further into the Tux Plus building at a future date.

Correction: Facelift on Ryan Street

Last week, the wrong photos were used to report the new massage and wellness facility coming to 1720 Ryan Street in Lake Charles, the former home of Frank’s Medical Mart and The Flower Shop. Machelle Phillips, the owner of Massage Lake Charles, has outgrown her offices at 1505 Common Street. She is remodeling the building, top right. Below that photo is the most up-to-date computer rendering of the remodel. This business will offer massage services, specializing in corrective treatments for injuries and pain relief, but will also include relaxation massage and esthetician services. The building will include seven treatment rooms, two waiting lounges, a meditation space, and a retail area.
