Dorcil “Jackie” Albair
Dorcil “Jackie” Albair, 77, of Hackberry, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020.
Jackie was born in Kentucky, and often spoke about growing up in the “Coal Chute” in the heart of the Kentucky “Hillbilly” region. She met her husband, Butch, on a visit to Hackberry and they were married after two weeks into a union of over 30 years. She was an extremely talented lady, singing in the family band, and an artist. Dorcil was known as “Crawfish Jackie” for her Crawfish scenes and stories. She was featured in the local news and the Lagniappe Magazine.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Paul Harrison of Indiana, Theresa Harrison of Hackberry, William Shehan Jr. of Hackberry, Melissa Shehan of Vinton; stepson, Bobby Albair of Oregon; siblings, Faye Sloan, Steven Sloan, Carolyn Sloan and Sherry Medlin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex “Butch” Albair; and three brothers.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Burial will follow in New Hackberry Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Emilee Brooke Calda, born Aug. 22, 2018, entered into Heaven and the arms of the Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Emilee enjoyed playing with toys, carrying her toys around and loved reaching to be picked up and held. Her sippy cup was her favorite thing. She will be most remembered for her beautiful blue eyes and her loving happy spirit. Emilee leaves her love in the hearts of many and takes with her all the love she was given.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her father, Zachary Keith Calda of Lake Charles; mother, Mary Nicole Nelson of Lufkin, Texas; brother, Alexander Lee Calda of Lake Charles; paternal grandmother, Kari Tonette Calda of Lake Charles; paternal grandfather, Richard Keith Calda of Lufkin, Texas; maternal grandmother, Miriam Nelson of Lufkin, Texas; paternal great-grandparents, Robert and Barbara Floyd of Lake Charles; godmother, Kalysta Chunn of Lufkin, Texas; uncle, Cody Stephen Calda of Lufkin, Texas; and three aunts, Brooke Calda McKnight and husband Derek of Nacogdoches, Texas, Chloe Marie Calda of Lake Charles, and Camille Renee Calda of Lufkin, Texas.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Mimosa Pines South under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Todd Schumacher and the Rev. Josh Bigwood will officiate.

Marian Sue Callicott, 72, of Oakdale, died Sunday, May 17, at Harbor Hospice. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, May 19, in Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Interment will be in Butter Cemetery, Forest Hill.

Allie Mae Demeritt, 95, died May 16. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, May 19, in Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
John Richard Enright, M.D.
Dr. John Richard Enright passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020. He was born Oct. 24, 1936, to Clarence Edward Sr. and Julia Irma Enright in Sicily Island, La. He graduated from Sicily Island High School in 1954 and attended Louisiana Tech University. He graduated from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, La., in 1961 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1964. While in the Navy, Dr. Enright served his country as a Medical Officer in Destroyer Squadron 21 after being stationed in San Diego, Calif. After several years of practicing family medicine, he completed a residency in urology at Confederate Memorial Medical Center in Shreveport, La. He and his family moved to Lake Charles in 1972, where he began a successful career in urology. Throughout his career he served as the President of the Louisiana Urological Society, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the Calcasieu Parish Medical Society. He was named Chief of Staff at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles several times. He retired in 2005.
Dr. Enright’s legendary wit and sense of humor were only surpassed by his kindness and compassion. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and loved spending time with family and friends. Always proud of his Louisiana roots, he never missed a chance to cheer for LSU football (Geaux Tigers!!!) and served as an honorary Sheriff’s Deputy in Calcasieu Parish. His other hobbies included woodworking, traveling and playing practical jokes on his friends, daughters and grandchildren. Most of all, he loved the mountains and spending time by the Flathead River at his home in Montana.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of almost 61 years, Monette Moreau Enright; his daughters, Ellen Ellis and husband Bobby, Sharon Scheib and husband Jay, and Colleen Magee and husband Michael Sr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Allison Lyles Davis and husband Heath, Casey Scheib Raspanti and husband Michael, Dr. Michael Magee Jr.and wife Wendy, Stephen Magee, Leslie Magee, Robert Ellis; and eight great-grandchildren all of whom were his pride and joy. Surviving siblings include Charles Enright and wife Jo Ann, Eleanor G’sell, and Thomas Leslie Enright Sr. and wife Reta.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Clarence Edward Enright Jr. and James Wilmer Enright.
His funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.

Coach Bobby Gunn Jr.
Coach Bobby Gunn Jr., 74, of Lake Charles, La., died at noon on Saturday, May 9, 2020, in a local hospital.
Coach Gunn was born June 29, 1945, in Lake Charles, La., where he was a life-long resident. He was a 1963 graduate of Marion High School and received his Master’s degree from McNeese State University. He worked as a teacher and coach at various area middle schools for thirty-three years, retiring in 2002. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, camping, golfing and riding his motor trike. Coach Gunn was also a member of East Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Renee’ Doescher Gunn; son, Randall Gunn and wife Nicole of Friendswood, Texas; daughter, Lisa Gunn of Woodville, Texas; sister, Virginia Lynn Bellon and husband Jimmy of Moss Bluff; and grandchildren, Alexis, Taylor, Hayden and Ella Gunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Bobby Gunn Sr.
His private family memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Dr. Mark LaFuria, the staff at the Guardian Rehab Center, The Dames, and to all of the special friends and neighbors.

Paula Renea Breaux Ortego
Paula Renea Breaux Ortego, a resident of Starks, La., was born March 29, 1966, and passed away May 16, 2020, at the age of 54. Paula was a graduate of SOWELA Technical Community College and McNeese State University. She was employed by CITGO Refineries as a Senior Chief Operator where she has worked for the past 32 years. She was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Ortego; her children, Jeffery Paris and Hannah Ortego; her stepchildren, April Hamilton and husband Tomas, Dustin Ortego and wife Autumn, and Colton Ortego; grandchildren, Lincoln Ortego, Chanel Elizabeth Ortego, Brandon Hamilton and Emma Hamilton. She is also survived by her father, Rodney Paul Breaux and wife Bonnie; mother, Sylvia Buxton; brother, Paul Randal Breaux; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at First United Pentecostal Church, 230 Smith Street, DeQuincy, La., with the funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Carlton Jackson Jr. and the Rev. T.D. Cardwell will officiate. A prayer service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, with interment to follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park.
