Daniel J. Barrilleaux
Daniel Joseph Barrilleaux, 80, died Friday, May 8, 2020, in a local hospital following a lengthy illness.
The son of Carbett Joseph and Eula Marie Cheramie Barrilleaux, Mr. Barrilleaux was born and reared in New Orleans. He followed his dad’s footsteps by serving his country for seventeen years in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an electrician for more than fifteen years in local petrochemical plants. Mr. Barrilleaux was a talented portrait artist and a member of the Catholic faith.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Lula Duhon Barrilleaux; two sons, Danny Barrilleaux of New Orleans, and Christopher Barrilleaux of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Gigi Love of Brookhaven, Miss., and Kathleen “Chotsi” Barrilleaux of California; two stepsons, Rex Matte and David Bryan Matte, both of Lake Charles; a daughter of the heart, Inga Barton; one brother, Colin Barrilleaux of Houma; one sister, Deanie Rome of New Orleans; and three grandchildren, Noah and Hunter Love and Neo Barrilleaux.
Cremation was entrusted to Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved husband and father to the doctors and staff of the DeQuincy Care Center.

Clifton “Cliff” Cabell
HACKBERRY — Clifton “Cliff” Cabell, 87, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in a local hospital.
He was a native of Lynchburg, Va., and had been a resident of Hackberry for over 60 years. He retired as a Louisiana State Trooper and also retired from Northrup Grumman. Cliff was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur where he served as a Deacon and had also previously served as a Deacon at Southside Baptist Church in Carlyss. He graduated from McNeese in 1960 with a Business Administration degree. Cliff was also president for the Cameron Parish Port Board for several years, and served on the Hackberry recreation board. He enjoyed working on his home and mowing his grass.
Survivors include his children, Cena Glass of Akron, Ohio, Callie Jeter and husband Tony of Batavia, Ohio, and Charles Cabell and Carey Cabell, both of Hackberry; his sister, Ann Giles of Virginia; and four grandchildren, Harlan Jeter, Pauline Glass, Clifton Glass and Collette Glass.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Katherine Cabell.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Revs. Michael Linton and Tom Bruce will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home with limited occupancy due to the state mandate.

Michael Christopher Calloura
Michael Christopher Calloura, of Lake Charles, La, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 in Midland, Texas.
Chris was born on Sept. 9, 1983 in Lake Charles, La and lived most of his life there. He was a 2002 graduate of A.M. Barbe High School. He attended McNeese State University, where he graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2005 and served as an alumni ambassador. He later attended Columbia Southern earning a degree in Health Safety and Environmental Science in 2015.
After graduating from McNeese, Chris worked as a police officer for the Lake Charles Police Department. He later pursued a career in oil and gas safety and was working for Diamondback Energy, Inc., in Midland, Texas.
He is survived by his parents, Barbara Streete Bailey and Michael F. Calloura, his wife Kelcee Calloura, her daughter Maddix Kate Baker and their son Mason Christopher Calloura, who will be born in September, his sister, Jennifer Calloura Corman and niece, Taylor Corman, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Wanda and Frank Calloura and Virginia and William Streete, as well as his uncle Daniel Calloura.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his laugh and the love he had for his family and friends. We find comfort in his favorite bible verse Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
A private memorial service will be held at a later date due to restrictions during this time. At this time, his family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all those who have reached out with words of comfort. He was so loved.
Doris Davidson Eldridge
Doris Theresa Davidson Eldridge, 77, of Lake Charles went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 14, 2020 from the comfort of her home.
Mrs. Eldridge was born and raised in Abbeville, La and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School and Demons School of Beauty. She worked nearly 40 years as a hairdresser, having owned and operated several salons throughout the course of her career. During her younger years she enjoyed following her children’s school activities, rather it be as classroom mom, Den mom, baseball mom, neighborhood gathering spot, “2nd” mom, or even worksite mom when traveling with her husband; “she was ALWAYS there”. She enjoyed dancing, watching “spooky wooky movies”, playing cards and computer games and was a wonderful cook. Her signature dish was hamburger steak. Her favorite gatherings were Sunday family dinners for as long as she can remember.
Mrs. Eldridge was a lady of grace with a soft, kind heart that when she loved, “she loved fiercely.” She will be most remembered for endlessly spoiling her husband and for her overwhelming love and devotion to her family and her Lord.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her sweetheart of fifty-two years, Aubrey Dale Eldridge of Lake Charles; one daughter, Tisha Eldridge Ciurea of New Orleans; one son, David William Eldridge and wife Vanessa of Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Ryan Ecker, Dylan Ecker, David Eldridge, Jr., Shelby Guillory, Kaleb Guillory and wife Chasity, Kevin Perron and Austin Perron and one great granddaughter, Rhyatt Guillory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Garber Davidson; one sister, Ruby Davidson Dell and two brothers, Ray Joseph Davidson and Daniel James Davidson.
Memorial services will be at 12 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2020 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend John Louviere will officiate. Visitation Monday will be from 11 a.m until the time of service in the funeral home.

Laney Parker
Laney Parker, 15, of Center, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020, in Shreveport, La.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2020, at First Baptist Church in Center with Bro. Bobby Bressman officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
Born Aug. 13, 2004, Laney is the daughter of Brad and Erica Parker of Center, Texas. Currently a student at Center High School, she is actively involved in cheerleading, softball and the theatre department. Her hobbies include competition cheer and athletics; however, she never wants to do anything that would hinder her cheer competitions. Laney is a giggle box; she loves to laugh, especially at her parents. Everyone around her loves making TikTok videos, which make her laugh even more. You can often find Laney in the kitchen baking cakes and brownies. Above all, she loves being with her family and friends. She attends First Baptist Church in Center.
She is survived by her parents; sister, Lexi Parker of Lake Charles, La.; grandparents, Glenda Hooper of Lake Charles, La., and Joe and Cindy Welch of Center; great-grandparents, Tommy and Gracie Stockstill of Center, and Joy Hooper of Lake Charles, La.; many extended family members; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her cousin, Blake Smith; great uncle, T.J. Stockstill; grandfather, Curtis Hooper; great-grandfathers, George Hooper and Vernon Willis; great-grandmother, Ann Willis.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Hughes, Steven Hennigan, Jason Williford, Landon Vidrine, Will Lawson, Rick Kirkley and Daniel Atchison. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hart, Brian Butler, Corey Causey and Blake Butler.
