Albert Joseph Blanchard, 78, of Ragley, died Monday, March 30. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles and on Friday, April 3, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Private graveside at 1 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens.
Laurel “Jean” Bussell
Laurel “Jean” Bussell was born Jan. 19, 1962, and passed away March 29, 2020, at the age of 58.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Keenan Todd Bussell; daughters, Shayna Vincent and husband Jacob, and Ciara Bruce and husband Trent; grandson, Lawton Vincent and soon to be “Baby Bruce”; mother, Aline Davis Addison; and brother, Milton Addison and wife Debby; father-in-law and mother-in-law, J. L. Bussell and Veda Bussell, all of Starks, La.; along with numerous nieces- and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Byrl “Buck” Addison.
The family received friends from 4–8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at Riley Smith & Sons Chapel, 1810 West Fourth St., DeQuincy, La. A private funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Riley Smith & Sons Chapel with interment to follow at Miller Annex. Officiating will be the Rev. Ron Butler and the Rev. Nick Coleman

Justicia Diane Carson
Justicia Diane Carson, 33, was born at Womack Army Hospital at Fort Bragg North Carolina on Sept. 30, 1986, and passed away on March 30, 2020, in the comfort of her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Justicia was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. JJ lived a venturesome life filled with travel and exploration. A dedicated homemaker, wife and parent. JJ enjoyed cooking meals for her family and providing a cozy and comfortable environment for her loved ones. She also enjoyed playing volleyball, riding motorcycles, bonfires, playing pool as well as cards and games. She strived to live a life that honored her father in heaven Jesus Christ. Justicia will always be remembered for her willingness to fight and never give up regardless of what adversity she encountered throughout her lifetime.
Justicia, or “JJ” as she was commonly known, will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend Dale Carson and their precious daughter Harley; her grandmother, Ida Ralston; her parents, Glen and Darlene Lowman; her sister, Jennifer VanScyoc and her husband Stephen and their son Stephen Jr. and daughter Katelyn; her brother, Jeremy Lowman and his wife Mitzi and their two daughters Lainey and Avery. She will also forever be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Service for Justicia are private and burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, La., under the direction of Lakeside Funeral Home.
She will forever be loved and missed and she was truly a blessing to all who knew her.

Rex Coffer
Rex Coffer, 74, passed away in a local hospital on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1945, in Lake Charles, La., to Rex and Katie Coffer.
He was a graduate of DeRidder High School. After finishing high school, Rex worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his brother, Donald Coffer of Ragley, La.; niece, Sherry Ardoin of Topsy, La.; and great-nephews, Cody Ardoin of Ragley, La., and Dylan Foreman of Lacassine, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.

Margie Helen Land Hansen
Margie Helen Land Hansen, 88, of Lake Charles, passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2020, in a local care facility.
Mrs. Hansen was born on July 29, 1931, in Hico, Texas. The family moved to Lake Charles from Texas at an early age and she remained here for the rest of her life. She attended schools here and graduated from LaGrange High School in 1951. Mrs. Hansen enjoyed her many friends and stayed in close touch with her school friends/family for many years. At LaGrange she was a member of the Gatorettes serving as a co-captain for her senior year. In a study hall library, she met the love of her life, Lawrence B. Hansen. In 1954 the high school sweethearts were married. It was a sweet and lasting love for 44 years. He passed away in 1998. She worked at the First National Bank and later worked for many years at the W.J. Moreau Insurance Co as the office manager.
She then was a homemaker and greatly loved and enjoyed that part of her life. Her love for the Lord and her family were the most important things in her life. Her family attended Boulevard Baptist Church for many years. While there she happily and loved working with church activities and the children’s department. She called them “God’s little miracles” and greatly and gently loved each one.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lawrence Hansen; and her parents, Earl and Ouida (Leta) Land.
She is survived by her son, Douglas “Doug” E. Hansen (Valerie); sister and best friend, Joyce “Jody” Lambert; grandsons, Scott Hansen (Alisha) and Grant Hansen (Kaylan); four precious great-grandchildren, Harlee Rayne, Shaye Leighann, Aubrielle Saige and Bethany Kay; and former daughter-in-law, Nancy Hansen.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2020, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. A private family burial will follow. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the start of the service.

Tiffany “Charlie” Hinch
Lady Tiffany “Charlie” Hinch, 40, of Austin, Texas, passed away due to complications with a chronic illness on March 23, 2020, in her home. She did not suffer. She was born in Lake Charles, to Patricia Hill and David Thibodeaux on Aug. 23, 1979. Tiffany graduated from Armada High School in 1996. She then moved on to become the Director of Dining Services at Compass Group. Tiffany enjoyed life to the fullest – never shy in her element, always helping others, and completely selfless in all aspects of her life. She loved music, cooking, dancing, bringing people together and taking care of others. She was active in Down Syndrome awareness as well as the Chive Charities organization. She was the cornerstone stage presence for the annual Hacker Jeopardy World Championship during the annual DEF CON Hacker Conference in Las Vegas. She was known for her kind heart, stunning looks, quick wit, loving friendships and delicious Cajun food.
Tiffany is survived by her husband, Derek of Austin; her two children, Morgan and Cole; her mother, Patricia Hill; her father, David Thibodeaux; her sisters, Alisha, Wendy, Kourtni, Kary; her brothers, Kenny and Keith, of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jimmie Saucier; her grandfather, Cliff Saucier; her father-in-law, Craig Hinch; and her sister-in-law, Hailey Hinch.
Her memorial service will be held at a later date.

Gia Grace LeDoux
Gia Grace LeDoux, age 6, of Sulphur, La., went to her Eternal Home on Friday, March 27, 2020. Gia was born on Aug. 5, 2013, in Lake Charles, La.
In this life, Gia was free-spirited, affectionate, and fearless. She was an All-American country girl. You could always find Gia enjoying the great outdoors with dirty feet and a root beer in her hand. Whether it was playing sports, raising her chickens and pigs, riding her bike or just digging in the dirt, being outside was her happy place. Gia loved playing with all of her siblings, cousins, and her best friend Jo.
As the youngest child, Gia adored her older siblings and was their little shadow. Gia was her Dad’s best sidekick, and they shared a very special bond training dogs and hunting. Gia was the apple of her mother’s eye, simply put, her baby girl.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are loving parents, Cade and Traci Trahan LeDoux; a brother, Bear LeDoux; two sisters, Evie LeDoux and Lila LeDoux; grandparents, David and Denise Trahan, Mark and Mayra LeDoux, and Denton and Toni Vincent; aunts and uncles, Thom Trahan and wife Katie, Adee Prine and husband Elliott, Morgan Guzzino and husband Nick, Jude LeDoux and Carlos Ortiz; cousins, Breck, Alice, Blase, Baron, Brant, Elsa, Max and Haytham.
Gia Grace left this world as a true hero, giving life to others through organ donation.
Visitation and services are private under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. The Rev. Luke Krzanowski will officiate services.

Joseph David LeDoux
Joseph “David” LeDoux, 44, of Sulphur, passed away on March 30, 2020, in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was an awesome mechanic, a “Valued” shade tree mechanic, who was of gentle spirit and a very easygoing loving person. David enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time in the outdoors with his children and family.
David is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Stephanie LeDoux; two children, Aleaya LeDoux and Dylan LeDoux; a special nephew, Markey Bandeaux; six siblings, John, James, Kenny, Jack, Elizabeth Marie and Renee; father, Jerry LeDoux; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bea LeDoux; mother, Betty Monceaux; sister, Pam; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Koonce/Parker Cemetery in Sulphur with the Rev. Marcus Wade officiating under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2, 2020, from 10 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Ava Annette Pugh
Ava Annette Pugh, age 91, passed away peacefully in her on Sunday, March 29, 2020. Ava was born on Oct. 2, 1928, to her parents Albert J. Louviere and Winona Lindsey Louviere.
Ava attended school in Iowa, La., and graduated from high school as the salutatorian of her graduating class. She then attended college at Northwestern University in Natchitoches, La., where she earned a BS degree in Education. She then married the love of her life, Buck Pugh and moved to Welsh where she taught school until her retirement. She was greatly admired by all who knew her.
Gran, as she was known by her family, will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She is survived by one son, Cleve Pugh(Roxanna); two daughters, Robyn Daigle (Clyde) and Bridget Doucet (Bobby). She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Grover Cleveland “Buck” Pugh; and a son-in-law, Kenneth James Broussard.
When it came to Ava’s favorite activities, there were no boundaries. She fancied sewing, crafting and fishing. One of Ava’s most treasured crafts she contrived were handmade guardian angels for her friends and family.
Visiting on her front porch with friends and family, playing card games and feeding the birds brought much jubilation to her. If there was music of any kind, she would be dancing. She was a very adventurous woman who was known to slide down a waterslide, ride on the back of motorcycles and sit on the back of a huge bull named Big Red while in her 80s.
Gran was not shy in regards to her faith. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Welsh where she was also an active member of the UMW and the sewing ministry. Above all of these things, Ava cherished spending time with her family the most of all.
Gran is also survived by her grandchildren, Adrienne Smith (Dave), Eric Broussard (Jessica), Leslie King (Braden), Robert Doucet (Hope), Ashley Pugh, Buck Pugh (Amanda), Weston Broussard (Sherry), Jaime Doucet (Blaine); and several step grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. James McNally, Luke and Lauren Guidry of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Jennings, Home Health, and her loving and caring sitters, Maxine and Bobbie Jo Tupper.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
