Vinton City Hall lobby closed

Vinton Mayor Kenneth Stinson has announced that as of Monday, March 23, the lobby will be closed for walk-in traffic. The drive-thru will be open as will the drop box. Those who need help with permits, work orders or traffic citations, are asked to call or use the through drive-thru and ask for help.

“Employees will still be working to do the business of the town,” Stinson said. “The lobby closure is for their safety.”

Stinson would like to remind resident that though the town will not be issue utility cutoffs during this period, those who can are asked to continue to paying their utility bills, as they will eventually be due.

“We are going to try to work with everyone, as we are all in this together,” he said. “Public works, police and fire departments continue to serve our citizens.”

Stinson asked that residents show patience, check on elderly neighbors and be kind.

“We will all get through this and we will get back to normal soon,” he said. “I will update with current information as it becomes available. God bless each of you and God bless the Town of Vinton.”
