Willard Theodore “Ted” Booty, 83, of DeQuincy, died March 4. Funeral service will be 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, DeQuincy. Interment will be Saturday, March 7, at Booty Cemetery, Kisatchie.

John Marcus Davis

John Marcus Davis, born July 18, 1973, in Chattanooga, Tenn. Preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, Dr. Larry Davis.

John graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1991. He graduated from UTC with a degree in psychology. After graduating from UTC, he decided he would like to be an engineer and graduated from Tennessee Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering.

He worked for Baron Corporation and enjoyed his time there and they sent him to Germany to see if he could qualify for a position in their main headquarters in Kentucky. John decided to leave Baron Industry and work at Phaltless Paving.

He is survived by his mother, Joan Bratcher Davis; his brother, Jeff Davis; brother, Jason Davis; sister-in-law, Gretchen Davis and their two children, Bradley and Lindy Davis. John’s uncles, Rusty Bratcher and Rob Davis.

A memorial service is to be held at the Signal Mountain Church of Christ, 960 Ridgeway Ave. Signal Mountain, TN 37377, on Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. and visitation following in the Fellowship Room. A private family inurnment at a later date.

A Celebration of Life for Nelson Doucet will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, in Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Ville Platte. Committal service will be in Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.

Myrle Miller Landry, 93, of Lake Charles, died Sunday, March 1, in a local hospice facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be noon Friday, March 6, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Joseph Hilton Leger

Joseph Hilton Leger, 87, of Lake Charles, La., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, in his home with his family by his side. Mr. Leger was born on Jan. 8, 1933, in Church Point, La., to Marsena and Elvina Leger.

Joseph grew up in Church Point, and moved to Lake Charles in 1954 where he lived most of his life. He worked as a building contractor, and owned Leger Quality Homes. He retired 25 years ago. He met with a group of friends every day at the Pitt Grill for coffee. He loved to build things, and he kept Blue Bell Ice Cream in business. But, above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 33 years, Dianna Lynn Romero Leger; his daughters, Vickie Benavidez, Diane Leger and Stacy Veillon (Michael), all of Lake Charles; his sons, Ronney Leger (Debi) of Lake Charles, and Olan Mott Jr. (Valarie) of Welsh, La.; and his sister, Charleen Price of Manteca, Calif.; and his sister-in-law, Anna Leger; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Martin Leger of Carencro, La.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Living Way Pentecostal Church, 1617 E. McNeese St., Lake Charles, LA 70607. Pastor Brent Keating will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help cover medical and funeral expenses.

Ruby LeJeune

Aug. 20, 1928 – March 3, 2020

KINDER — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ruby LeJeune will be celebrated at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder, La., at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2020, with Father Keith Pelerin officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery in Kinder, La., under the direction of Reed Funeral Home.

Mrs. LeJeune, 91, of Kinder, La., entered eternal rest on March 3, 2020, in her daughter’s home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Ruby loved gardening, working in her home, exercising, attending Bible studies, weekly group rosaries; she worked at St. Vincie Closet, attended Daily Mass, played cards and was a member of Ladies Altar Society. She devoted her life to her family and friends and was loved by everyone. She and her husband owned LeJeune’s Heating and Air-Conditioning Business in Kinder for 50 years and she was instrumental in running the business.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben LeJeune after 61 years of marriage; parents, Anaize and Albert Thibodeaux; and 12 siblings. Mrs. Ruby was the matriarch of the Thibodeaux family from Church Point, La., and the last of her generation. Her priority in life was to promote faith in God and education for all.

Those left to cherish and mourn her memory include her five children, Wanda Caldarera and her late husband Coach Max Caldarera of Westlake, La., Benny LeJeune and his wife Julie of Westlake, La., Jackie Tietje-Griffin and her husband Gary of League City, Texas, Carla Reeves of Westlake, La., and Bernard LeJeune and his wife Richelle of Kinder, La.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Reed Funeral Home Thursday, March 5, 2020, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 5:30 p.m. with a singing at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service. Condolences may be made at www.reedfuneralhomeofkinder.com.

Sue B. Perry, 83, of Merryville, died Wednesday, March 4. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, DeRidder. Burial will be at Meadows Cemetery, Merryville.

John Buddy Ryder, 82, of Lake Charles, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, in a local care center. Memorial gathering will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, in Fleur de Lis Room at Hampton Inn, Lake Charles, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

SULPHUR — Debbie Miller Wilde, 63, died Monday, March 2, 2020, in her residence.

She was a native of Sulphur, and had been a resident of Moss Bluff for the last seven years. Debbie enjoyed art, especially painting, absolutely loved anything Elvis Presley related, and was a member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club. She attended Moss Bluff Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her sons, Jeremy Thompson and wife Judie of San Antonio, Texas, and Justin Thompson of Allen, Texas; her sisters, Kathy Bertrand and husband Alden of Moss Bluff, and Vickie Farris and husband Jeffery of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Krysten Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Brooke Thompson, Eli Carroll, Cadence Young, Ireland Little and Tyson Fontenot; and two great-grandchildren, Liam Thompson and Dre’lynn Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wilde; her son, Michael Thompson; and her parents, Ray and Alberta Miller.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeffery Farris will officiate. Burial will be in Hyatt Cemetery in Fields. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday, and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.

Carrol “Doc” Wilson, 93, of Lake Charles, died Sunday, March 1. Visitation in Lake Charles will be at Johnson Funeral Home Friday, March 6, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Cross Point Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Interment will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge.
