T.S. Cooley

Fifth-grade students at T.S. Cooley recently participated in the Region V Science Fair. First-place awards went to Rhett Goodson, Jackson Henry, Mahad Jadoon and Thomas Wright; second-place recipients were Ruth Rohrbeck, Julius Rossowski, Mason Russo and Max Wilson; third-place recipients were Norah Chafin, Abby Alcock and Harlowe Shandersky.

Kynzie Boone, Colin O’Neill, Zuhair Zindani, Brooke Broussard and Jackson Racca received Honorable Mentions honors.

Special awards were given to four T.S. Cooley students. Arden Pleasant received the Tru Solutions Excitement in Science Award. Zoya Nazim received the NASA Earth System Science Project Award. Ethan Jones received the National Energy Education Development Award and a weeklong scholarship to science summer camp. Mahad Jadoon received the Best Project Award of all elementary entries. T.S. Cooley also received the Best Elementary School Award.

The school’s Accelerated Reading Mardi Gras Mania results have been tabulated. The schoolwide goal was 2,672 points, but Cooley readers went above and beyond that goal with 3,801.4 points and top readers were selected to represent their class in the annual Mardi Gras parade.

Mrs. Julia Thompson’s class royalty is Queen Jude Youssef, King Logan Walker and Royal Court Members Carter Papillion and Maddox Bordelon. Mrs. Phyllis Guidry’s class royalty is Queen Mila Fontenot and King Ryan Ross and Royal Court Members Cruz Watson and Andrew Xie. Mrs. Tararra Babaz’s royalty is Queen Clara Li, King Jack Johnson and Royal Court Members Yasna Jadoon and Sabella Nguyen. Mrs. Ginger Caldwell’s royalty is Queen Cassidy Funk, King Ethan Parasseril and Royal Court Members Cecilia Reeves and Cayson Trahan. Ms. Cassie Stroud’s royalty is Queen Sasha Challagolla, King Jacob Cole and Royal Court Members Magdalena Rossowski and Evan Brown. Mrs. Shelly Rion’s royalty is Queen Bradlei Farnum, King Colton Coward and Royal Court Members Elizabeth Bell and Mia Manuel. Mrs Angie Schmitt’s royalty is Queen Jordan Brown, King Remy Girard and Royal Court Members Layla Norsworthy and Olivia Fusilier. Mrs. Sarah Cappel’s royalty is Queen Sarah Riley, King Eli Alexander and Royal Court Member Katelynn Oliver. Mrs. Orndoff’s royalty is Queen Anna Green, King Mahad Jadoon and Royal Court Members Julius Rossowski and Harlowe Shandersky. Ms. Katie Coyne’s royalty is Queen Zoya Nazim, King Ethan Jones and Royal Court Members Sam Dondapati and Hita Pappireddy.

The 1st/2nd grade Parade Marshall is Drew Sonnier and the 3rd/4th grade Parade Marshall is Noah Courtney.
