Jann Perkins Bennett, 77, of Lake Charles, La., died on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, in her residence.
Ms. Bennett was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Bay City, Texas, and was a 1961 graduate of LaGrange High School. She worked as the curator of the Mardi Gras Museum in Lake Charles.
She is survived by three children, Susie LeJeune and husband Troy of Westlake, Teddi Guillory and husband Darrell of Westlake, and Danny Perkins and wife Melissa of DeQuincy; sister, Lynn Bryant and husband Kenny of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Meagan Themis, Christopher Dingler, Jay McGee, Jill Janssen, Joey Sedlock, Jake Guillory and Zoe Perkins; 11 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and her best-friend, Sandra Taveney of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Deanna Dale; and the father of her children, Cecil Perkins.
Her cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A private celebration of Jann’s life will be at a later date.

Darlene Marie Bogan
On Dec. 18, 2019, Darlene Marie Bogan departed this life at the age of 63, in Lake Charles, La. She was born on June 26, 1956, to the late Henry and Beulah Tezeno. She worked as a certified nursing assistant.
She leaves to mourn her life-long companion, Nathan Steward; three daughters, LaRonda (John) Briscoe, LaTosha (Adrien) Bogan and LaToya (Ed) Bogan-Reado, all of Lake Charles, La.; four brothers, Henry (Elaine) Tezeno Jr., Julius (Jannifer) Fontenot Sr., Jessie (Kenya) Tezeno and Frank Tezeno, all of Lake Charles, La.; seven grandchildren, Raheem, Kaysha, Martin, Maniyah, Emani, Daunte and Naomi; one great-grandchild, Tina Rose Marie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Beulah Tezeno; two sisters, Greta Tezeno and Linda Grice; and one brother, David Tezeno.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at 9 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. at Living Word Christian Center, Bishop Joseph Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King’s Funeral Home.

Heidi Elizabeth Broussard, 33, of Austin, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, in Houston, Texas.
Miss Broussard lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She lived her early childhood years in Cameron and past four years in Austin. She was a 2004 graduate of LaGrange High School. She worked mostly as a waitress, the past four years at Cracker Barrel. Heidi had a real soft spot for animals and was currently applying to further her education to work as a Veterinary Technician. She loved listening to music, singing and dancing. Her spirit brightened every room she entered, her smile and laughter brightened the day and her heart and guidance lifted countless many. Even as a child, Heidi was the welcoming friend, the neighborhood “herd of kids” place to gather. She had a servant’s heart, and everyone was her “best friend”. She also was sure to see that others had what they needed. She was adventurous and willing to try anything once! Heidi also had an overwhelming faith in the Lord and “saw God as Love”. During her younger years, she was an active member of Abundant Life Fellowship, church camp and youth group. She was a member of Life Church of Austin and found comfort in raising Silas in the church and had already attended her first Sunday with Margo.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Silas Tyson Carey; one daughter, Margo Elizabeth Carey; one step-daughter, Addison Carey, all of Austin, Texas; her parents, Roger “David” Broussard and Tammy Bostick Broussard of Lake Charles; fiancé, Shane Tyson Carey of Austin, Texas; grandfather, Lee Roger Broussard; grandmothers, Annette Southern, May Bostick and Margaret “Skeeter” Mullins, three uncles, Mark A. Broussard, Rocky Allen Bostick and Butch Bostick; and one aunt, Bonita K. Wagner. She also leaves her extended family and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Billy Gene Bostick and Rudy Southern; and uncle, Willis Higginbotham.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Doyle Evans will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Friday will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue Saturday from noon until the time of service in the funeral home.

Leonard Leon “Lenny” Deville, 35, was born Nov. 20, 1984, in Lake Charles, La., to Jacqueline “Jackie” Deville and Ray Calligan. Lenny was a member of Messiah Baptist Church, attended LaGrange High School, and was employed by Prien Pines Landscaping. Lenny was definitely a San Francisco 49er’s fan. He departed this life Dec. 17, 2019, in his residence.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Jackie (Leroy) Guidry and Ray (Felicia) Calligan; two sons, Zayln Lofton and Elijah Williams; four sisters, Lekiesha McZeal, Lakyn (Gevaughn) Boutte, Lauren Deville and Laurian Guidry; two brothers, Traevon M. Calligan and Michael Charles; grandmother, Mary Deville; godmother, Brenda Dellafosse; godfather, Wyman Deville; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laicey J. Deville; grandmother, Alice (Dewey) Young; niece, Piper Boutte; and nephew, Winston McZeal Jr.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at Messiah Baptist Church. Pastor Robert Owens will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. in the church.

Marlene Johnson Fontenot, 59, died Dec. 19, in a local hospital. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, in Semien-Lewis Mortuary. Burial will be in Silverwood Community Cemetery.
Lucy Gallow
Lucy Mae Gallow, 79, was born on May 11, 1940, to the late Vicaire and Mary Papillion Bellow in Mallet, La. She was the fourth child of twelve born to this union and was loved dearly by all. She passed away surrounded by her family on Dec. 24, 2019, in Lake Charles, La.
Lucy was a lifelong devoted, and active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was a member of several church organizations; Christian Mothers (50yrs), Ladies Auxiliary (50yrs), Legions of Mary (45yrs) and a prayer group at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (35yrs).She started her employment journey with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pace then Mr. and Mrs. Joe Stoma which led to her 41 years of service for S&M Bargain City. On any given day you would always find Lucy barely reaching the clothing racks with her beautiful smile and dimples, working with special friends, Pat Elmore, Betty Larce and Jan Youngblood.
Lucy leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Michelle Guidry; a loving and devoted son-in-law, Kevin Guidry; two grandchildren, Kayla and Khristian Guidry; and one great-grandchild, Symone. She is also survived by eight siblings, six sisters, Catherine Bellow of Austin, Texas, Genevieve Bello (Cornelius Garner) of Powder Springs, Ga., and Anne (Earlis) Jacobs, Theresa Belleau (Mike Bush), Louella Chretien and Martha Smith; two brothers, Aaron (Theresa) Bellow Sr. and Paul (Kathleen) Bellow, all of Lake Charles, La.; one sister-in-law, Clarice Gallow of Carson, Calif.; and three godchildren, Joanne Kirby, Phillip Guillory and Joshua Stevens. Lucy loved her family; they were her absolute pride and joy. Wherever they were she wanted to be. Whether it was school, sports, or church activities, birthdays, anniversaries, confirmations, baptisms, first communions, graduations, she was there. She made sure they were loved, cared and prayed for.
Visitation is Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Combre Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.

LAKE CHARLES – Tiffany Guillory-LeDay, 38, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, in the local hospital.
She was a native of Lake Charles and she had lived in Lake Charles for 38 years. She was an R.N. with BSN. She worked at St. Patrick Hospital for five years and Home Health Care for 2 years.
Survivors include her parents, Peter K. (Annie) Guillory of Lake Charles; one sister, Adrianna K. (Donald) Guillory of Lake Charles; three nieces, A’nya Guillory, Kamryn Guillory, and Daelynn Guillory; grandmother, Essie J. Thomas; Godparents, Paul Guillory of Lake Charles and Rose Thomas of Spring, Texas; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives, and friends.
Tiffany was predeceased by her grandparents, George and Aline Guillory.
Her visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Combre Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. in St. Henry Catholic Church, the Rev. Matthew Cormier will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Cemetery in Lake Charles.

LaThresa Yvonne Joubert, 26, was born Nov. 5, 1993, in DeRidder, La., to Jarvis Joubert and Theresa Lynn Miller Joubert. A native of Louisiana, she resided in DeRidder, where she was a graduate of DeRidder High School. She later attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and then joined the U.S. Army. LaThresa held various jobs, one being a military police for the Louisiana National Guard. She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Aaliyah LaShae’ Guillory Joubert; parents, Theresa Lynn Joubert and Jarvis (Jeannie) Joubert, Sr.; grandmother, Lorraine Freeman Joubert; two brothers, Jarvis Joseph Joubert Jr., Travis LeRoy Joubert; one sister, Adrena Adams and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. On Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, the sweet spirit of our dear sister went home to be with our Lord and Savior.
She was an Ordained Minister, in the Ministry for over 30 years. She met the love of her life during High School sharing 55 Beautiful and Blessed years of love and life with her soulmate, Albert. She was an awesome mother, grandmother, an avid cook, loved all children she met as her own and loved to sew. She was actively involved as a former Basketball Coach, Band Booster Mom and LCB Cougars Basketball Team Mom from 1984-1988. She leave to cherish her love and memories a loving and devoted husband, Albert Lilly Jr.; daughter, Filisha (Britney) Lilly, all of Friendswood, Texas; granddaughter, Jazmyne (Noah) Dumes; great-granddaughter, Ryan Dumes, all of Groves, Texas; a host of other family and friends.

Michael William McClanahan
Michael William McClanahan, born Sept. 6, 1947, in Lake Charles, La., passed away Dec. 13, 2019, in Marietta, Ga., surrounded by his family. Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joanne Williams McClanahan; his two adult children, Erin McClouse and Ryan McClanahan; sister, Sharen Hart; and nephew, Brett Hart.
Mike was a graduate of Lake Charles High School and Louisiana State University (LSU), where he studied Aerospace Engineering. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran and served honorably from 1970-2000. During his active duty career (1970-78), he was a member of Patrol Squadron 45, based in Jacksonville, Fla., served overseas at the Rota Naval Base in Rota, Spain, and served one tour on the USS Forrestal. Following his 9 years of active duty military service, Mike worked for Loral Corporation and then EMS Technologies as a Program Manager. Throughout his civilian career, he continued to serve as an Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, retiring a Captain.
Mike will be remembered for his dedicated service, his love of travel, crawfish, LSU football and telling stories with family.
His family expresses gratitude for the kind care provided by medical staff at the WellStar Community Hospice — Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain — during Mike’s final days.

David Issac Miller, 66, passed away Dec. 24, 2019, in a local hospital.
He loved being outside and tending to his garden and all of his animals. He enjoyed cooking, listening to Cajun music and being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, David Keith Miller and wife Rebecca of Lake Charles; brothers, Jefferd Miller of Iowa; Eddie Miller of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Kayla and Joseph Miller.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelva Miller; parents, David and Dorothy Miller; brothers, Adam Miller and Raymond Miller; sisters, LaVonna Newman, Amanda Carpenter, Mary Landry and Sis Miller; grandchild, Austin James Miller.

IOWA — Andrew Jordan Mouton, born in Lake Charles, on Feb. 4, 1997, son of Amanda Egland Mouton and Stephen Mouton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, at the age of 22, after a lengthy illness.
Andrew was a graduate of Iowa High School, class of 2015, where he was member of the band. He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and worked for Vic & Anthony’s. Andrew loved music, singing, playing the saxophone and video gaming.
Survivors are his mother, Amanda Mouton; father, Stephen Mouton; sisters, Alexandria Small; Alana Mouton; maternal grandparents, Mary and Alfred Egland; paternal grandmother, Fritzgerald Mouton; great-grandmother, Irene Egland; aunts, Benita (Gregory) Auzenne, Mona (Kenneth) Griffin, Ursula (Norman) Warner, Donna (Greg) Jacobs, Michelle (Richard) Celestine; uncles, Patrick (Cynthia) Mouton, Joel Mouton; niece, Trinity Manning; nephew, Cameron Williams; numerous cousins. Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herbert Joseph Mouton.
Funeral service is Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, at noon in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Pastor E. J. Kemper III will officiate. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park. Buddy Mouton
Laddie Bob “Buddy” Mouton, 87, of Lake Charles, La., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, in a local hospice facility with his family by his side.
Mr. Mouton was born March 26, 1932, in Sweetlake, La., to Russell and Mabel Derouen Mouton. He graduated from Grand Lake High School and joined the Army shortly thereafter. He served his country honorably, serving during the Korean War at Fort Bliss, Texas, as a radar operator. He was a boxer in high school, and in the Army. Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, horseback riding, working cattle, crawfish boils and beer, but most of all he loved his grandchildren. After being discharged in May, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, “Totsie” in June. They were together for 63 years. He retired after 47 years of service with Cintas.
Buddy is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria “Totsie” Mouton; his daughters, JoEllen Elliott (Mike) and Melonie Mouton; his sister, Beverly Beard; grandchildren, Ty, Hannah, Drake, Leslie, Kori, Cameron, Nina, Tessi Jo, Aaron and Charles; 13 great-grandchildren; and his beloved service dog, Cash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Terri Mouton Royer (Bubba); his son, Chris Mouton; and his sisters, Bernadine, Earline, Helen, Joann and Brenda.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Jeffery Dale Smiley passed from this life on Dec. 23, 2019, in a Lafayette hospital at the age of 56.
“Smiley” as he was known by almost everyone was a loving and adoring husband and grandfather. He loved fishing and working in his yard. Jeffery’s last name fit him well as he always had a smile on his face and a warm welcoming personality. Smiley was generous to a fault and took great personal pride in providing for his family. He loved being a pipefitter and spending long workdays with his work family. He loved cooking and listening to music in his spare time.
Mr. Smiley was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann Derouen Terrel; and brother, Llyod Fontenot.
Jeffery leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sandi Desormeaux Smiley; stepdaughter, Tessa Martin and husband Matt; grandchildren, Wade, Wyatt, and Mattly Martin; father, Wayne Smiley and wife Debbie; sisters, Kathy, Cindy and Connie; and his nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. As per his wishes, Mr. Smiley will be cremated following the service.
