Roanoke woman faces drug charges

JENNINGS — A Roanoke woman is facing multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop early Monday on Touchet Road and U.S. 90 in Jennings.

Brittany Skye Legros, 29, was arrested on possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, careless operation, possession of a controlled dangerous substance Schedule II, possession of controlled dangerous substance Schedule II with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance Schedule IV and possession of a controlled dangerous substance Schedule IV with intent to distribute.

Legros was arrested after sheriff deputies stopped her vehicle around 2 a.m. Monday.
During the stop a request to search the vehicle was obtained. During the search deputies found a small amount of marijuana in the cup holder.

While deputies were talking with Legros, a small plastic bag and a pink sock fell from under her hoodie. The items were believed to contain methamphetamine.

During booking, deputies also discovered Legros had additional narcotics in her bra.
Deputies recovered 28.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 6.3 grams of marijuana and 33 pills.

Man arrested 
after disturbance

JENNINGS — A disturbance call in Iowa has lead to the arrest of a local man on multiple charges.

Michael Ross Hardy, 43, of Iowa was arrested by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office for criminal trespassing, disturbing the peace, simple assault and aggravated assault.

Chief Deputy Chris Ivey said deputies were called to a residence Sunday on Moreaux Road in Iowa in reference to a disturbance.

When deputies arrived the complaints advised that at Hardy had followed them to a relative’s home nearly ramming the back of their vehicle, he said. While at the relative’s house, witnesses observed Hardy chasing his wife and son around the yard.

Hardy had left the area before deputies arrived, but was located a short time later on La. 101 in Iowa.

This was the fifth call involving Hardy since May, Ivey said.

Man flees traffic 
stop in Reeves

REEVES — Allen Parish authorities are continuing a search for a suspected illegal immigrant who fled during a traffic stop on U.S. 190 in Reeves on Saturday.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, weighing about 180 pounds and believed to be in his late 20s. He was last seen wearing green pants, a red shirt and tan jacket.

Five other illegal immigrants, including a second suspect who ran from the traffic stop, have been taken into custody. They were released Monday to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

They are Dawn Gonzales-Saldgoto, 26; Melvin Garcia-Benitez, 21; Javier Rodriguez-Martinez, 23; Jose Rodriguez-Martinez, 37; and Juan Carlos Benitez, 33.

Anyone who sees the person or a suspicious person in the Reeves area should contact the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office or call 911.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

Brianna Rashawn Welsh, 22, 2364 Legion St. — aggravated assault; simple burglary; theft less than $1,000.

Deshawn Wayne Ware, 20, 1637 Jackson St. — simple burglary; two counts theft less than $1,000.

Marquez Antonio Simien, 20, 1904 Winterhalter St. Apt. A — simple burglary; two counts theft less than $1,000.

Richo Edwards, 48, 721 N. Lincoln St. — drug possession; possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles; operating vehicle while license is suspended; direct contempt of court.

Sonzelet Kennon, 20, homeless — unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling; drug possession; simple criminal damage to property less than $1,000.

Mark Reid Thompson Jr., 32, 1900 Sam Houston Jones Parkway, Moss Bluff — domestic abuse battery, child endangerment; simple criminal damage to property from $1,000 but less than $50,000.

Adrent Damone Carter, 36, 1900 Prejean Drive L157 — domestic abuse battery.

Tristan T. West, 38, 4000 block of Shirley Drive, Jennings — domestic abuse battery.
