Better Block event

Volunteer Courtney Miller paints a jazz musician mural on a wall of the Foundation House Restaurant Friday morning on Enterprise Boulevard. Miller, who recently moved to Lake Charles from Fort Worth, Texas, was eager to be a part of the “Nellie Lutcher Better Block” event designed to showcase the potential of the historical area. The event opens at 10 a.m. today with a children’s park, interactive murals, pop-up shops, food trucks and more.
