The Southwest Louisiana O Gauge Model Railroad Club will run its layout 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Brimstone Museum, 900 S. Huntington St. in Sulphur. The club models the Southern Pacific, Missouri Pacific, and Kansas City Southern Railroads in the Steam to diesel era, 1945-1972 in 1/48 scale.

Andy Buckley has completed the third historical building for the club’s Sulphur scape diorama. Etie’s Clothing Store, owned by Abby McMurray Ferguson, was founded by her great-grandparents Charles and Cora Etie in 1918 and is the oldest single-owned family business in Sulphur. The store is located on Huntington Street next to the former Calcasieu-Marine National Bank branch. For more than 100 years, generations of parents have purchased children’s apparel, games, toys, shoes, as well as women’s apparel from this Sulphur landmark.
