Cecilia “Ceya” Kytzler Dupree

Attention Ceya Dupree wants everyone to know:

The Pity Train has just derailed at the intersection of Suck It Up and Move On, and crashed into We All Have Problems, before coming to a complete stop at Get the Heck Over It.

Any complaints about how we operate, can be forwarded to 1-800-waa-aaah. This is Dr. Sniffle Reporting LIVE from Quitchur’ Griping.

Suck it up cupcake, life doesn’t revolve around you!

Cecilia “Ceya” Kytzler Dupree, 68, a resident of Lake Charles, passed from this life on April 28, 2019, in the comfort of her home.

Ceya will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family and friends were the center of her life. She possessed a very quick wit and could turn the most serious of subject matter into a joke. She knew a lot about everything and a lot more about everything she didn’t know about. Mrs. Dupree never met a stranger and never left a place without making a friend. She was generous to a fault and would give to others to her own detriment and had a huge heart. Everyone else’s problems were always bigger than hers and she actively sought to help them despite her own needs. Before her retirement, Ceya was a mortgage broker and later worked with mental health patients through NHS Human Services. After her retirement, Ceya immersed herself in caring for and supporting people in need throughout the community and devoted most of her time providing insight, support and sympathetic ear to her friends, family, and those in need. She was fluent in tough love and had a black belt in helping other to self-realization.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, T. Derek Dupree and wife Kelly of Minnesota, Kevin Dupree and wife Misty of Sulphur, and Aaron Dupree and fiancé Amberly Wilson of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Alisha, Nathan, Haylee, Kaileb, Kyleigh, Sophie, Ella, Kate, Hudson, and Sebastian; and sisters, Alice and Julia Kytzler.

A gathering of friends will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday, May 18, 2019. A celebration of Cecilia’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home. In accordance with Mrs. Dupree’s wishes, her remains were donated to further the study of medicine and science.
