Editori’s Note: All Calcasieu Parish Public Library branches and facilities will be closed Sunday, April 21, for the Easter holiday. Normal hours of operation will resume Monday, April 22. No fines will be charged during the closure period.

Friends of the Library-Calcasieu Book Sale: 10 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, April 23.
Central Crochet Club: 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25. Join the crochet club to chat and crochet. The club is open to beginners, amateurs and pros. Participants will have the chance to meet friends, have snacks, and learn a new hobby. Teaching will be very informal and creations can be donated to charity. Please bring your crochet hook. Yarn will be available.
RELIC Presents — I’ll Be Seeing You — American and World War II: 6 p.m. Thursday, April 25. Join us for Part Three of a Three-Part Series featuring accounts and writings based on events of World War II. Our scholar leading the series will be Dr. Robert Forrest, retired history professor from McNeese with a concentration on WWII. We will look back through the decades to discuss and study some of the causes and effects of key events during this crucial time in our country’s history. Accompanying literature will be available for checkout at Central Library from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. Attendance at all three presentations and book checkout are not required, but encouraged.

Spanish Story Time: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27. Come join us in reading Spanish/English stories in books, songs, fingerplays, and crafts. We will share stories for 20 minutes, then make a craft. This is a great way to introduce your young child to new languages and/or enforce languages already spoken at home.
