Ennis W. Buller, 83, of DeRidder, La., passed from this life on March 9, 2019, in Lake Charles, La. Ennis, the son of Henry and Erma (Farque) Buller, was born on June 3, 1935, in Iowa, La.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 13, at 11 a.m. in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La., with the Rev. Lindsey Burns and the Rev. Kevin Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, La.

Ennis was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Lions Club. He worked at PPG for 35 years before retiring.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Lillian Williams Buller of DeRidder, La.; son, David W. Buller, M.D., wife Denise of Gilmer, Texas; daughter, Pamela Holliday, husband Michael of DeRidder, La.; brother, Eldon Buller, wife Evelyn of Mendenhall, Miss.; sister, Charlene Bourne of Lake Charles, La.; four grandchildren, Kerri Cunningham, husband Michael of DeRidder, La., Katie Fontenot, husband Michael of DeRidder, La., Tyler Buller, wife Kati of Gilmer, Texas, Morgan Buller of Gilmer, Texas; nine great grandchildren, Taylor McCarty, Rece Cunningham, Faith Cunningham, Emily Fontenot, Aleah Fontenot, Corbin Buller, Griffin Buller, Cassidy Buller, and Kaden Buller. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Erma Buller.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be DeRidder Lions Club.

Bridget Curtis

Bridget Ann Wolfe Curtis, 61, of Ragley, La., died on the morning of Sunday, March 10, 2019, in her residence.

Mrs. Curtis was born April 10, 1957 in Creole, La., where she graduated from South Cameron High School in 1975. She called Cameron Parish home until 1990 when she moved to Texas and settled in Ragley, La., fourteen years ago. She worked for Chevron Oil as a dispatcher, later as an activities director for various nursing homes and most recently as the manager of Taco Bell. She was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Longville, La., where she enjoyed decorating the church, participated with the children’s department when she was able and was a past member of the choir. Mrs. Curtis enjoyed crafts, spending time outdoors, and animals, but her true passion in life was for her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Curtis is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jimmy Curtis of Ragley, La.; son, Robbie Lafosse and fiancée Stacy Jefferson of Grand Lake; daughter, Allison Curtis of Spring, Texas; stepsons, Jimmy Curtis Jr. and Chris Curtis; mother, Barbara Wolfe of Grand Lake; mother-in-law, Barbara Curtis of Denham Springs, La.; brothers, George “Snookum” Wolfe and wife Sybil of Grand Lake, Lane Wolfe and wife Bonnie of Baton Rouge, Gregory Wolfe and wife Margaret of Creole, and Carl Wolfe and wife Simone of Grand Lake; sister, Cindy Wolfe of Grand Lake; grandchildren, Jaxon, Millie, Devin, Conner, Kennedy, Payton, Joseph, Kevin, Jerick, and BraeLynn; her best friend, Suann Marquez of Lake Charles; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members and friends that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Alton Wolfe; father-in-law, Clifford Curtis; and stepdaughter, Kimberly Curtis.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Memorial Baptist Church in Longville, La. The Rev. Jimmy Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Moss Bluff on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continue on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.

Dona Green

Dona Green, 72, was called Home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2019. Born July 22, 1946, in Sulphur, to Gilford and Lula Domingue, she graduated from Sulphur High, Class of ’64, where she was proud to be a Majorette. She attended Sowela Technical College for accounting and retired from the City of Sulphur after 29 years of service where she was Personnel Manager. She has always loved and served the Lord. She led the worship services singing and playing the accordion at South Side Tabernacle for many years. She was an avid outdoorsman that had a passion for deer hunting, fishing, and camping with her family. After retirement she spent many years at the deer lease where she served as the secretary of the hunting club. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends.

Preceding Dona in Death were her parents Gilford Domingue and Lula Suarez Domingue; and one son law, Keelan Monfore. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bubba Green; her daughters; Gina Stutes Lack and husband Jackie of Ragley, Jessica Stutes Monfore of Ragley, and Bonnie Green Nolan and husband Jeromy of Moss Bluff. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Gracie, Aydan, Marshall, Isaiah, Jacob, Morgan, and Brody.

Visitation will be at Johnson and Robison Funeral home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, from 4- 9 p.m. and will resume on Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 9 a.m. until time of service. Funeral service will be Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery.

Jon “Patsy” Guidry

Jon “Patsy” Guidry, 77, of Starks, passed into the arms of her Savior Saturday, March 9, 2019, at her residence surrounded by loved ones. She was born on Oct. 10, 1941, to her late parents, John Riley Ashworth and Hazel Ashworth DeVoar in Port Arthur, Texas. Patsy loved her son and spending time with him. She loved to sew in her younger years, shop and enjoyed her Stiletto heels. Most of all, she loved to worship everyday of her life and visit with her church family, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her only son, Jeffrey Glen Guidry of Buna, Texas; her most valued companion, Sadie Belle; cousins and friends and her church family; and a special thanks to Sis Merle Rainwater, her pew partner.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lou Jeana Hollingsworth; and a nephew, John Chadwick Ashworth, who was so special to her.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the First Pentecostal Church of Starks, with Bro. Karl Smith and Bro. Devin Doyle officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, at the First Pentecostal Church. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Starks. Services entrusted to Hixson-Snider Funeral Home of DeQuincy.

Timothy “Moe” Kratzer

JENNINGS — Funeral service for Mr. Timothy “Moe” Kratzer, 58, of Lake Charles, will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Susil Fernando officiating. Burial in Andrus Cove Cemetery will follow under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Kratzer will begin on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m. with a Cursillo Rosary service at 7 p.m. It will resume Wednesday morning at 8 and continue until 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Kratzer was a very caring and compassionate person who enjoyed taking care of others. He loved drinking coffee, playing cards, laughing and spending time with his family and friends. He spent most of his life between Jennings and Lake Charles and was a graduate of Jennings High School in 1978. He worked as a cook in restaurants doing what he loved best. He was known as the best family Cajun cook.

He is survived by his partner, Tommy LaRocca; his father, James Kratzer Jr. of Jennings; a sister, Sue and husband Coleman Moore of Carencro; and three brothers, James “Jimbo” and wife Celena Kratzer of Roanoke, Glenn “Goonie” Kratzer of Lake Charles, and Gerald “Pal” Kratzer of Jennings.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shelba Jean Broussard; and his grandmother, Emma Broussard.

JENNINGS — A Mass of Christian burial for Kristen Marie Theunissen LaBauve of Iowa, La., will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings, La., on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Father Susil Fernando officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, from 3:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 8 a.m. and continue until the time of her Funeral Mass.

Kristen was born on April 12, 1988, to Bernan Theunissen, Jr. and Jamie Broussard Theunissen. She was called from this life into the arms of the angels on March 10, 2019. Kristen worked as an office assistant for Hart Eye Center. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Kristen loved sports, shopping, listening to music, boating, participating in fund raising activities, and she enjoyed art. Most of all Kristen loved the time she was able to spend with family and friends, especially family vacations and outings.

Kristen is survived by her parents, Bernan and Jamie Theunissen of Jennings, La.; her husband, Lawrence Ian LaBauve of Iowa, La.; her son, Miles LaBauve of Iowa, La.; her three brothers, Trevor Theunissen (Mary) of Austin, Texas, Tyler Theunissen of Baton Rouge, La., Hayden Theunissen of Jennings, La.; her sister, Allyson Chaudoir (Chris) of Lafayette, La.; her nieces and nephews, Henry, Julia, Carson, and Huxley.

Patricia Ann Naquin, 63, passed away on March 10, 2019, in the comfort of her home. Pat loved to dance, fish and camp, play cards and listen to French music. She enjoyed being around her family and friends.

Pat is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dale Naquin; her daughter, Marcie Nope and husband, Jimbo; six grandchildren, Tad, Britni, Shanda, Kelsey, Zachary and TeKay; two great grandchildren; and her siblings, Tina LeJeune, Joey Meche, Pam Gentry and Noda Meche; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mary Cormier Meche; one son, James “Trent” Naquin; and one brother, Tony Meche.

Funeral service for Pat will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Blocker officiating. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 4-9 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Stephen Ronald Rothermel

Stephen Ronald Rothermel, was born Feb. 19, 1933, to John and Helen “Goldie” Rothermel in Peru, Ind., passed away in his residence after a long, courageous battle with cancer on March 10, 2019.

Stephen worked for Cities Service in sales for 25 years and after retiring went on to teach Math and English at Sowela Technical Institute. He served his country with honor and distinction in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1 in Lake Charles, La., where he served two terms as Post Commander. He attended St. Margaret’s Church where he served faithfully since 1969. His many duties included hospital ministry, funeral minister, lector and many others as needed. Mr. Rothermel was also a lifetime member of St. Margaret’s Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and the mother of his children, Rhea Rothermel; six siblings, Richard Rothermel, Marjorie Hansen, John Rothermel, Mary Kathleen Rothermel, Veronica Parsons and Helen Marie Rothermel.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Martin Rothermel; one daughter, Lisa Fralick of Lake Charles, La.; three sons, Dr. Kurt Rothermel and his wife Sheila of Crowley, La., Dr. Peter Rothermel and his wife Ana of Lake Charles, La., and Karl Rothermel and his wife Angie of Frisco, Texas; stepchildren, Bobby James Fontenot, Patrick Martin Fontenot, Gene Roy Kuntz, and Mary Margaret Kuntz. He was PAW PAW to 19 grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time of procession to the church. The American Legion Poppy Ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 2:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Saint Margaret’s Catholic Church at 4 p.m. The Rev. Samuel Orsot is to officiate. Private burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his precious friend, David Hunter, Christus St. Patrick’s Hospice and the Oncology Departments of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital staff at MD Anderson.

All of his life he gave his time to his children, his family, his community his church, and he will be dearly missed.

Lillie Mae Burke Tarver, 73, of Lake Charles, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, in her residence surrounded by family.

A native of Lake Charles, she was born Oct. 13, 1945, to Harry Herman and Pearl Dennis Burke. She enjoyed camping, being outdoors, gardening, crafting, and spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly.

Lillie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph “Bud” Tarver; children, James Tarver and wife Stephanie of Iowa, Jerry Tarver and wife Selinda of Augusta, Ga., Joey Tarver and wife Tammie of Sulphur, and Jay Tarver of Lake Charles; sister, Anita Moreau; brothers, Paul, Tommy, and Richard Burke; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward and Bennie Burke; daughter-in-law, Shanna Tarver; and granddaughter, Alisha Tarver.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m.

MOSS BLUFF — Kevin Paul Trahan, 46, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1972, in Lake Charles to Gary M. and Marsha Trahan.

Kevin was a loving father of three who served his country honorably aboard the USS Pasadena as a Sonar Technician in the U.S. Navy. He ended his service as a war veteran in Desert Storm and was honorably discharged due to an injury. Kevin obtained his sailing certifications along with his two daughters and dreamed of circumnavigating the globe. They went on many adventures to teach his family what the world has to offer. His children were the light of his life and he yearned for their happiness. He would jump to peoples aid and was quick to make everyone laugh. His vast knowledge allowed him to construct many marvelous creations. Kevin enjoyed old music being played on classic receivers he restored. Kevin took pride in discoveries and restoring neglected objects. Of all things family was the top priority and he dedicated everything to them despite the troubles that befell him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Natalle Trahan, Vanessa Trahan and Cristhian Perez; parents, Gary M. and Marsha Trahan; and siblings, Matt Trahan and Jenny Canter (Chad); nephews and niece, Payton, Eliot and Lyla Canter and Rowan Trahan; grandparents, Joe and Rena Soileau; aunt, Cindy Lee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Trahan; paternal grandparents, James C. and Alice Trahan; maternal grandmother, Betty Couvillion; and uncle, James C. Trahan Jr.

His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial will follow the service in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday from noon until 2 p.m.
