Ned Richard Carnahan

Ned Richard Carnahan, 87 years old, passed away on Dec.
22, 2018, in Conroe, Texas. He was the widower of Erma Jean “Red” Henderson Carnahan.
Born in Evangeline, La., on March 29, 1931, to Grace Bond and George Charles Carnahan, he was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Roanoke
High School in 1948 and attended McNeese College for a short time thereafter. Ned worked for Concrete Pipe and then Borden’s Milk in Lake Charles before transferring to Borden’s in Lafayette, where he and Red raised 4 Children, George Norman, Cathy
Laraine, Sharon Sue and Richard Kevin. In 1966, Ned began working as an insurance adjuster for GMAC, which he retired from in 1999.
During his life, Ned enjoyed fishing at his camp in Toledo Bend and travelling. He and Red made several
trips and were fortunate enough to spend some time in Switzerland. He loved to spend time with his family and he also enjoyed working on cars, which he picked up from his father.
Ned is survived by his four loving children, Norman Carnahan
(Kathleen) of Spring, Texas, Cathy Veron (Ricky) of Lafayette, La., Sharon Caka (Mark) of Anaconda, Mont., Kevin Carnahan (Tracey) of Conroe, Texas; sister, Lollie Klein (Don) of Lake Charles, La.; grandchildren, Sara Worsham (Bruce) of Round Top,
Texas, Shayne Carnahan of Ashland, Ore., Megan Veron of Baton Rouge, La., Brian Veron (Camille) of Lafayette, La., Candace Vauthier (Kris) of Anaconda, Mont., Jake Caka (Jess) of Bozeman, Mont., Kyle Carnahan (Payton) of Ruston, La., Konner Carnahan
of College Station, Texas, Kade Carnahan of Conroe, Texas; great-grandchildren, Silas Zion, Brady Veron, Madeline Veron, Luke Veron, Violet Veron, Hank Vauthier, Kegan Carnahan and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by
his loving wife of 34 years, Erma Jean “Red” Carnahan; sister, Marlene Courville; parents, Grace Bond Carnahan and George Charles Carnahan.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at Miguez Funeral Home in
Jennings, La. Visitation will begin at noon and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh, La.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
