Texas man pleads not guilty to rape of Calcasieu teen

<p class="p1">A 71-year-old Texas man was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to first-degree rape and indecent behavior with a juvenile on Monday in state district court.</p><p class="p1">Gregg L. Hammock of Silsbee, Texas, is accused of raping a 17-year-old in Calcasieu Parish.</p><p class="p1">The teen told authorities Hammock had inappropriate contact with her in 2017, while he was living here, according to authorities.</p><p class="p1">Investigators with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said Hammock confirmed the allegations.</p><p class="p1">Hammock was arrested on Feb. 28 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.</p><p class="p1">Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $750,000.</p><p class="p1">A trial date for Hammock has not been set.</p>
